[edit] Backgrounds
Can someone help with the background so the white doesn't disappear. --evrik 17:21, 8 September 2006 (UTC)

For solid color blades, should we reuse the same image? --evrik 19:41, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
- I'd say so, I imagine there are clubs which also share blade colours with stripes if you look hard enough. --Richard B
[edit] Category for inclusion
This list could become huge if we include every rowing club. Should we limit it to clubs with Wiki articles? Richard B 19:44, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
- dunno. I say we break apart the article into smaller articles if the page gets that big. One way to keep the size down is to not add any unless there is an article, but I don't think we have to limit it. --evrik 19:55, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
- I think if a citation for the blade design is provided - it should be allowed. Not sure how we format all the cites. Gary van der Merwe (Talk) 19:45, 13 October 2006 (UTC)

- We could break the page up into sub-pages, especially if we get access to Gary van der Merwe's images. --evrik 14:33, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
- The page was getting long, so I made a split ... --evrik (talk) 17:17, 3 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] SO this is where they come from!
I've been adding a lot of these to Wikipedia Commons, the central library for Wikimedia projects. If you make any more blades, could you possibly upload them to Commons instead of to English-lang Wikipedia? That way we don't end up with duplicates, and all the different language Wikipedias can use them. (There's no difference in using a Commons pic - it just gets called from a different place.) That would be great. Cheers, JackyR | Talk 20:13, 16 September 2006 (UTC)
- All of my blades (i.e. all of the Cambridge University college blades) are on Commons. Richard B 21:16, 16 September 2006 (UTC)
- I've added all of mine to the commons ... ya know ... it would be great if we could translate the page. --evrik 14:31, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
It is appalling the number of prestigious collegiate crews that are not shown in this article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.225.229.218 (talk • contribs) 17:47, 21 June 2007
[edit] Blades from my old site
Very surprised to see my old site linked to from this page. For what it worth - I am prepared to release all content on that site under the GFDL. Gary van der Merwe (Talk) 07:40, 13 October 2006 (UTC)
- That's great! How do we get all the image files from you? --evrik 14:16, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
- Unfortunately I no longer have the original vector files. But you can just download the rasters of the site. I'll try get a copy of the whole directory from the host (my old school). Gary van der Merwe (Talk) 15:34, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Template Documentation
I've added a bit of help on how the ridge is drawn over here: Commons:Image:Rowing_Blade_Template.svg. I've also edited the template to include a bunch of comments to help edit it. But when I click on the link, I still get the old version. Please make sure you start with the new version.
I hope to add more documentation.

[edit] More Blades
I have created many more blades, but as specified above, they do not fit on these pages, but I think I should mention them here in case articles are written about these clubs. I have made a page of them at User:Jonowatkins/Rowing Blades. Jono Watkins 23:13, 1 July 2007 (UTC)
- Just add them to these pages. --evrik (talk) 02:26, 2 July 2007 (UTC)
- I would, but referring to previous discussion they don't have articles, so they don't belong here (yet). -- Jono Watkins 00:43, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
