[edit] Eastern Catholic Churches

I've tried to clarify the article. I'm not sure everything is perfect.

I've suppressed Mozarabic and Ambrosian churches because they do not exist (only the rites do) : a rite doesn't always mean the existence of a church and a churchman can have several functions (cf. Schönborn, Austria).

[edit] Jehovah’s Witnesses

Since several years, the director of the "Watchtower" is not the "president of the Jehovah's Witnesses".

The direction is assumed by a "Governing Body" (whose member's number can change). The presidency of the Body seems to rotate every year.

I've had the situation in 2004, but things can change. If someone has better informations...

[edit] Titles of the pope

I really don't think that the full string of pope's titles should be included in this list. It does't appear in any other listing and, in my opinion, it is completely unnecessary and it makes the list a mess. They deserve a mention in the pope article, but not here; "John Paul II, Pope" is enough. - Mike Rosoft 23:19, 31 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Non-Christian content

I added some non-Christian leaders to give more variety. In some cases how much they actually "lead" their respective religions seems unclear to me. I recently added "new religions" due to controversies over the "list of controversial religious leaders." I might drop that element, or radically reduce it, if it is offensive.--T. I decided to reduce the list of leaders of new religions on my own initiative. The remaining lead religions that are new, but large enough to be significant. Or that appear to be small, but appear to be harmless.--T. Anthony 01:31, 29 August 2005 (UTC)
Okay I may have gone overboard. I hope it's not too big now as there's everything from the Shakers to Tendai Buddhism or from the surviving few hundred ancient Samaritans to several rising and new religions. It's been fun trying to find if some of these religions even have leaders, in any sense, but I think I've done enough. Hopefully my obsessiveness will abate as I think this is a fairly complete list. Although if your denomination is still unrepresented, you can now feel free to not worry about me obsessively putting on some obscure group instead--T. Anthony 10:42, 11 September 2005 (UTC)
Correct that I forgot the Druze. I imagine there are some Shiite and Protestant leaders I missed too, but I think I'll add the Druze guy and stop. Well hopefully.--T. Anthony 10:50, 11 September 2005 (UTC)
