[edit] Titles, or Competitions?

I think that these can be more properly called as "competitions", not "titles". When we compare the category of "Chess competitions" and the cateogry of "Chess titles", we may find that these Go affairs are more similar to "competitions", not "titles". They are determined by the competion between players. The Japanese version of this article is called "棋戦 (囲碁)", and the Chinese version "围棋赛", both of which literally mean "Go competitions". Can we move this article to "Go competitions", and create a subcategory of "Go competitions" under the categories of "Go" and Competitions? Thank you very much for your considerations. --Neo-Jay 21:42, 15 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Go competitions redirect

I think the pages Go competitions and Go tournaments should not redirect here. What about those notable amateur competitions such as the World Amateur Go Championship? --unkx80 13:20, 28 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Current titleholders?

I'd like to recommend removing the current titleholders from this page. Copying the information here makes it more likely to become outdated and inaccurate. I'd suggest just keeping each tournament's page up to date, as well as the various Go templates on who are current title-holders (or competition winners ;) --Steve Kroon 13:26, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
