Talk:List of popes/Comments
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
First of all- the term/word 'pope' starts with siricius (384-399) as you defined, however you refer to all previous chritian church leaders as 'popes' and they were not- by your own definition. Prior to ther schism they were 'leaders in the chritian church'. If you use the term/word 'pope' for those leaders before siricius then you are implicitly and unjustly subjugating all denominations of christianity (including those denominations in existence before catholicism) to catholic church dogma. what are you trying to do? claim that every churchleader starting from (and including) saint peter was a catholic?
