Talk:List of political parties in Kosovo

[edit] Use of Kosovo or Kosova
Could you please revert your recent changes to the Political Parties of Kosovo page. The argument you are using does not stand. When a person establishes a political party, they name them, and that name cannot be changed by anyone else, other than the court. A serb political part from Kosovo may be "Serb List of Kosovo And Metohia", you cannot rename it to "Serb List of Kosovo", although "Kosovo And Metohia" is not the accepted English name of the territory. Hence, all political parties of Kosovo have spelled out their name, check their websites if you don't believe me, and thay all use Kosova exclusively, except Serb ones. As a result, I did not touch the names of the Serb parties.
Now, could you please be so kind and revert your recent changes, and spare me of doing the same work again.
Thank You,

- I just entered this discussion. Kosovo is the official English name of what is called Kosova in Albanian. I just visited the website of UNMIK. UNMIK uses Kosovo as translation. SO I really think Kosovo is a better translation. Gangulf 07:09, 9 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- Who you are to decide, what´s better or not. Let the Kosovar´s to choise their way. If you are a Kosovar, you woudn´t write like that. Have a look to the article Kosovo they wrote "Kosovo i Metohija". If you are a neutral man, you wouldn´t allow it.--Hipi Zhdripi 23:00, 28 Apr 2005 (UTC)

- Gangulf, there is absolutely no doubt that the name of the territory in English is Kosovo. However, for the Serbian political party the name appeared as Kosovo and Metohia (a name which is offensive to Kosovar Albanians). Hence, I suggested either to use Kosovo for all political parties, or alternatively we could use the names that are used by the members of each party, in which case all Kosovar Albanian political parties would have to be named using Kosova.

- We are now using Kosovo for all political parties, regardless of their ethnic basis, hence I believe the issue is solved. Many thanks, Kosovar 02:09, 11 Dec 2004 (UTC)

- We do not agree yet. The region should be called Kosovo in English. But in a party name 'and Metohija' can be included. Personally I would prefer Metohia in stead of Metohija (since 'ija'is clearly not English but Serbian). Gangulf 21:51, 13 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- You (Gangulf) have visit the website of UNMIK, yes, but there is no term "Kosovo and Metohija" or "Kosovo and Metohia". That means that everything what has to do with Kosovo " and Metohija ", has no place in all article with Kosovo as a subject, except in the artikle History of Kosovo. --Hipi Zhdripi 23:00, 28 Apr 2005 (UTC)
