[edit] Merging

It has been suggested that List of Punjabis be merged into List of people from Punjab. I strongly disagree.

The List of people from Punjab page has been written by a person who has a myopic view of the Punjab(I can see from this from the content of the article).

For a page that lists famous personalities from the Punjab, we need to include all famous Punjabis; men and women; Hindus, Muslims and Sikhs; Indians and Pakistanis; Brahmins , Khatris, Rajputs, Tarkhans, Aroras , Banias and Jats.

That is the beauty of our province. We are of so many hues. I should know this because I have spent a lot of my time contributing to the List of Punjabis page. And now some rascal wants to poach on it.

Instead "of merging the List of Punjabis into List of people from Punjab", the latter article should be deleted. Period. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rajatjghai (talkcontribs)

Your recommendation would essentially be the same as merging the two articles. You are just saying that nothing from List of people from Punjab needs to be merged. The merge template simply means that there should be one aticle and there is currently two, which seems to be something that you agree with. — goethean 22:46, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
