Talk:List of modern weapons
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
of "Modern"==
Concerning the title of "modern" weapons. Should there really be pistols designed in 1900 on the page? What sort of standard is there for "modern"? After World War II? In current, wide (popular) use today? Made in the last 50 years? Maclyn611 20:31, 1 May 2004 (UTC)
- Tough question. I'd say that current use, but not neccesarily front line use is about right. In that case, battleship would probably be removed. Thoughts?-LtNOWIS 03:37, 29 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- I concur with the standard of current use--although we could probably specify it further to current manufacture. I don't know if Colt still manufactures the 1911, but I know other companies like Les Baer use the exact same design, so we should probably leave that. Teflon Don 05:07, 7 Apr 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Table
I'd like to throw out the idea of eventually making this list a table. While browsing it, I think it'd be nice to know the country of origin, the date of first (and last, if applicable) manufacture, and the caliber/barrel diameter/et cetera. Yes? No? Teflon Don 05:07, 7 Apr 2005 (UTC)
[edit] THIS PAGE REQUIRES CLEAN UP
This page must be cleaned up for the sake of clarity. If one looks, many weapons are stated multiple times under different names. If anyone has the time, please clean this page. *Update* Many users have started to remove the duplicate entries and your services are greatly appreciated. ArminHammer

[edit] List of *all* modern weapons
The description in this article says it should be a "List of all weapons currently in development, production, or significant service in the world." This seems silly to me - listing *all* modern weapons in one article would make for one huge and messy article.
