Talk:List of minor Rurouni Kenshin characters
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
[edit] Minor changes
On the subject of Soujiro's wanderings, Soujiro leaves the Juppongatana, effectively marking the end of the syndicate, and begins his wanderings prior to Shishio's defeat (if you could call it that,) at the hands of Kenshin and Shishio remarks on this much prior to his battle with Kenshin.
- Could someone who has access to the original japanese manga add the kanji for the names? I assume Tsukioka has the same surname as Tsukioka Yoshitoshi, but I could be wrong. --YoshoKatana 02:21, 22 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Senkaku
shouldn't he be included here
Sojirou later referred to him.
And by the way, was he killed now or not? Evilbu 13:40, 20 March 2006 (UTC)
- killed in the anime, not in the manga. Seven 10:57, 29 March 2006 (UTC)
and what proof do we have in the anime that he was killed? Evilbu 19:29, 29 March 2006 (UTC)
- Easy, please watch ep.54. Seven 22:17, 29 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Geisha vs Oiran
Yumi, a geisha? No way! Geisha are not prostitutes! If Yumi were a geisha, her bow would be on the back. Only a prostitute (high rank or not) would wear her bow on the front. One should be able to tell the difference between the two, before using a term such as geisha. Seven 05:26, 30 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] The Shinsengumi and the Mimawarigumi
1. The Shinsengumi and the Mimawarigumi were both police forces to protect Kyoto's peace. Seven 05:23, 30 March 2006 (UTC)
2. The Shinsengumi didn't exist when Okita was fifteen. Okita was born in 1842 or 1844 and the Shinsengumi was formed in 1863. Seven 05:23, 30 March 2006 (UTC)
3. The Mimawarigumi was formed in 1864. This would indicate the date of Mimawarigumi member Kiyosato Akira's death to be around April (lunar calendar), 1864. Seven 05:23, 30 March 2006 (UTC)
4. Migozuchi Haitō-ryū, the standard Shinsengumi style? BIG MISTAKE! The standard Shinsengumi style was called the Shinsengumi-Kenzyutu. (Hijikata developed Shinsengumi-Kenzyutu from Tennen-Rishin Ryu.) Seven 03:58, 1 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Saito
Saito didn't master all the sword techniques of the Shinsengumi-Kenzyutu and therefore, shouldn't be able to teach the techniques of the Shinsengumi-Kenzyutu to others without supervision. It's safer to assume that in the Meiji era, Saito couldn't teach his Gatotsu (fictional techniques of the Shinsengumi-Kenzyutu) to others in the RK universe (since he would not have the proper supervision to do so.) Seven 22:48, 27 April 2006 (UTC)
The Zeroshiki isn't a technique to catch the enemy by surprise! It's used when there isn't enough space to move (not when all other techniques are failed). Seven 06:27, 22 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Shun Ten Satsu
In the manga, the Shun Ten Satsu is clearly stated to be faster than the Amakakeru Ryu no Hirameki. Seven 08:21, 11 April 2006 (UTC)
From Vol 16, Act 134
Sanosuke: ...... Kenshin has the advantage in battou-jutsu but Soujirou has the advantage in speed. If he’s up against the combination of Shukuchi and Tenken’s battou-jutsu, Shuntensatsu, then combining godspeed with the Amakakeru Ryuu no Hirameki, instead of waiting there, should make their overall speed ALMOST equal...... The determining factor is now......the technique’s destructive power... Seven 08:46, 11 April 2006 (UTC)
- Ah, my mistake then. Starone 17:35, 12 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Yutaro's Right Arm
Later in the anime, Yutarou's right arm is fully healed. At the end of the manga, Yutarou's right arm is healed (not 100% though) and he becomes an assistant instructor (like Yahiko) at the Kamiya Dojo.
There's no indication that he ever becomes left-handed in the anime or in the manga.
From Vol 6, Act 44 Yutarou: IF my right arm’s no good I’ll use my left. (IF his right arm isn't healed, THEN he will use his left arm.) Seven 16:47, 27 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Enishi and Shishio
The Enishi and Shishio entries are rather long... should they be made into seperate pages. Enishi is the major villain of the Jinchu/Memory arc with a very long and developed backstory while Shishio is the major villain of the Kyoto arc.
[edit] Misao on Template
I think that Misao is a distinguishable enough character in the series to be put on the template.
Misao, the adopted grand-daughter of the previous Okashira? There's no indication of that.
From Vol. 11, Act 86
Okina:... the only grand-daughter of the illustrious previous Okashira... Seven 06:30, 10 July 2006 (UTC)
I don't get what you're saying. I was just asking if anyone thinks that Misao should go on the character template considering that she is a major character in the Kyoto arc and reappear later.
- I left the message in regard of a recent edit at the bottom of the discussion page. It wasn't a reply to yours. Seven 07:35, 11 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Misao's DOB
Makimachi Misao's DOB: November 1863 (according to Kenshin Kaden)
Therefore, in summer 1878, she's only 14 by western standards and 16 by East Asian age reckoning. Seven 18:24, 4 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Message to an anonymous user regarding Udō Jin-e
Udō Jin-e is not the only character that has a decided advantage over Kenshin (in his wanderer personna). In addition, Kaoru isn't saved by Kenshin. She overcomes the Shin no Ippō by herself.
Saito, for example, is another character that has such a deiced advantage over Kenshin.
From Vol 7, Act 52
Kenshin: . . . Udou Jin’eh was twisted from the beginning, but you weren’t. In the days of the Bakumatsu, even though you were vicious, if you fought, it was by a fair and honorable challenge. Attacking an enemy’s friends to scare him, setting your dog on him and using that opening to take hostages--such cheap tricks would have been beneath you.
From Vol 7, Act 53
Saitou (thinking): . . . Since he’s settled here he’s fought Zanza, the Oniwabanshuu, Shinomori Aoshi and Raijuuta all in a short time. He’s learned to accept victory by awakening the strength of the Hitokiri that sleeps inside him. It’s as I thought. When he picks up the sword, although he doesn’t know it --little by little he’s reverting to Hitokiri Battousai.
Kaoru (thinking): It’s the same . . . it’s exactly the same as with Jin’eh . . .
From Vol 7, Act 57
Kenshin: ...But if, as in the fight with Saitou, I have already returned to Battousai . . . In my days here, while my heart was at ease, I felt like I had changed from the Hitokiri to an ordinary swordsman . . . But the fight with Saitou forced me to realize it...
Kaoru: ...No matter how close you were to Battousai, you were still Kenshin! The time with Saitou and the time with Jin’eh were the same!
Kenshin: . . . With Jin’eh, I became Battousai in order to save you, and your voice was able to bring me back. But with Saitou, I became Battousai only for the sake of the duel. Therefore even your voice couldn’t reach me. The difference is crucial. Seven 22:31, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Saito Hajime
Does anyone else think he deserves a seperate article? Aoshi has his own article and Saito is no less important than Aoshi.
- Hmm, I do think Saito deserves a page for himself. He literally has 200% more info then on any other of the minor characters, and his own list of attacks. Anyone up for creating a new page?--Hanaichi 12:15, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

- As far as I know, articles for characters based on historical figures are not created separately. There's a Saito Hajime article with a "Saito in fiction" section and the RK version of Saito is included there. Seven 23:45, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
- I feel we should make a seperate article(Which I did, but was deleted) as Saito here has perhaps too much information for a minor character, and even has a list of his own techniques. Besides, Saito probably done as much as Aoshi and perhaps more. As for the characters based on historical figures, I probably will do some research and if anything comes up I'll refer here.--Hanaichi 01:14, 18 July 2007 (UTC)

- Please check the guidelines. I honestly don't believe that articles for characters that were real people should be created separately. Information such as his techniques should be added to the Saito Hajime article (under "Saito in fiction" section.) That's how it's done. Seven 11:52, 18 July 2007 (UTC)

I helped re make the Bionicle Wiki after it went down, and I agree with making a page for him. I worked on smaller pages on the Bionicle Wiki, but I'd gladly help make a Saito page. Koji Toa of Ice
- However Seven is right, fictional character articles based on real characters aren't seperated from the real character. Lets just keep it here.--Hanaichi 02:59, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Bandaged guy
What is the name of the bandaged up guy? All I remember about him is he was burned somehow, and is some major opponent. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Aburame66745 (talk • contribs) 01:33, 2 October 2007 (UTC)

Image:Raijuta.JPG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit] Improving character articles - PLEASE use Watsuki's "The Secret Life of Characters"
Those of you notice that Watsuki discusses creation of characters, right?
PLEASE use those tidbits to source info about characters! They make articles better! WhisperToMe (talk) 00:10, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] On Katsura Kogoro and Yamagata Aritomo
I placed some edits on their profiles based on what I read from the manga's Remembrance Arc and TsuiokuHen, but they were reverted due to lack of sourcing and "speculation", which I still don't quite comprehend. Can somebody tell me how to make those edits properly? Supaagekireddo (talk) 15:34, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
