For Gdańsk, use the name Danzig between 1308 and 1945 For Gdańsk, use the name Gdańsk before 1308 and after 1945 In biographies of clearly German persons, the name should be used in the form Danzig (Gdańsk) and later Danzig exclusively In biographies of clearly Polish persons, the name should be used in the form Gdańsk (Danzig) and later Gdańsk exclusively. For Gdansk and other locations that share a history between Germany and Poland, the first reference of one name in an article should also include a reference to other names, e.g. Danzig (now Gdańsk, Poland) or Gdańsk (Danzig). An English language reference that primarily uses this name should be provided on the talk page if a dispute arises. Reverts to conform with community consensus are excluded from the 3RR rule. Only the place names can be reverted exempt from the 3RR rule according to the outcome of this vote, additional changes fall again under the 3RR rule. Please use descriptive edit summaries. [edit] List of burgomasters or mayors?

It's certainly a good idea to link Burgomaster; however per WP:UE the English word we should use is mayor - not German burgomaster or Polish burmistrz. This is why we have List of mayors of Berlin and List of mayors of Warsaw or List of mayors of Katowice.-- _{Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus | talk} 18:48, 24 November 2007 (UTC)

PP, be warned once again, but no more: Stop your move and edit warring! This list is about mayors of Danzig, well after 1308, until 1945. No Gdansk is involved at all, and not a single Kasimierz, Maciej or Piotr. -- Matthead DisOuß 14:53, 25 November 2007 (UTC)

Burgomaster is an ancient term for mayor of only Dutch towns and cities. It is not a synonym for mayor. German form is Bürgermeister, I have no idea why someone came with Burgomaster ? ≈Tulkolahten≈^≈talk≈ 22:19, 24 November 2007 (UTC)

"per our naming convention" a move to a double name, Piotrus? You know very well that from 1308-1945, the name is Danzig, and only Danzig, for article titles. No mayor from another time frame is listed anyway. And even if some names are added, the 600+ year time span will outnumber any other period for centuries to come. The proper thing is to keep two lists.
