[edit] Rating

Should be nominated and reviewed also as a feature list...Definitive. Outstanding, thorough article; a great source for encyclopedic information.

A-Class current rating.... Very useful to readers. A fairly complete treatment of the subject. A non-expert in the subject matter would typically find nothing wanting. May miss a few relevant points.(SriMesh | talk 02:55, 29 May 2007 (UTC)).

[edit] format to table

How would tables instead of bulleted lsts work inside every order paragraph? Insted of having this:

we could turn it to this:

Common name Species Genus Subfamilty Family Suborder
North American Porcupine Erethizon dorsatum LR/lc Erethizon Erethizontinae Erethizontidae (New World porcupines) Hystricomorpha
Mountain Beaver Aplodontia rufa LR/nt Aplodontia   Aplodontidae (mountain beaver) Sciurognathi
American Beaver Castor canadensis LR/lc Castor   Castoridae (beavers) Sciurognathi

Thoughts? --67.142.130.49 15:06, 10 June 2007 (UTC)

  • Seems like a nice idea. Not every column needs to be sortable. Kappa 22:44, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
    • This is not an option due to the presence of in-table headers that can't readily be eliminated. Circeus 23:00, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Extinct and prehistoric

I'm confused as to what time period the "Extinct, extirpated or reintroduced species" section is covering. I assume that there were mammoths etc once upon a time. Kappa 23:11, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

Specifically since colonization. I can make it more explicit. Circeus 01:26, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
"In written history" is fine, thanks. Kappa 23:18, 14 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Links to subsections

Is it possible to link to the subsections (like felidae and canidae) from the table of contents? Kappa 23:17, 7 September 2007 (UTC)

Uh? There ARE links, which are automatically generated by the MediaWiki software, and they work just fine with me. What browser are you using? Circeus 01:25, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
Is there a link to Family Sciuridae: Squirrels in your TOC? Kappa 23:17, 14 September 2007 (UTC)
Sorry, sorry. I confused families and orders there. I don't think that's a good idea because it makes the TOC unmanageable (which is why I removed the links from List of mammals of Korea). See before and after. Circeus 01:24, 15 September 2007 (UTC)
