Talk:List of linear algebra references

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

[edit] Content of the lists

The list of advanced texts and external links is meant to be comprehensive, so you should feel free to add additional items. The list of introductory texts was selected based on popularity (specifically Amazon.com sales rank). There are quite a few relatively obscure introductory linear algebra texts, and these have been purposefully excluded from the main list. Jim 01:35, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Note on linking here

This article is designed to be linked to in the References sections of linear algebra articles (perhaps using the "see also" template). Template:Linear algebra references provides a standard short list of references for introductory linear algebra articles, as well as a link to this longer list. Jim 07:20, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] See also template?

I don't think the link to Template:Linear algebra references should be included in the see-also section, per Wikipedia:Avoid self-references — it's useful to editors of articles, but confusing to readers. Maybe somehow put a prominent link to it near the top of this discussion page instead? —David Eppstein 05:21, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

Done. Jim 07:20, 13 September 2007 (UTC)
