Kolmogorov Complexity, also known as "Kolmogorov-Chaitin complexity", descriptive complexity, etc., of an object such as a piece of text is a measure of the computational resources needed to specify the object. The concept was independently introduced by Andrey Kolmogorov, Ray Solomonoff and Gregory Chaitin in the late 1960s.
