I edited out all the Slavas (short form of Vyacheslav in Russian), plus a couple of others. Otherwise, one should accept that Theoren Fleury's nickname is "Theo", Robert Gordon Orr's nickname is "Bobby" and so on. Mrbluesky 01:08, 28 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] About the proposal to merge this page

I don't know how this works, but it looks like the discussion on List of sportspeople by nickname thought it was a good idea to break out each sport into its own list. It looks to me like the consensus is to NOT MERGE the pages. If anyone knows how to remove the tag, (or are we allowed to just do that ourselves?), well, I vote to remove the tag. It's easier to find useful info with separate lists. ColtsScore 05:06, 31 May 2006 (UTC) I'm removing the merge proposal tag, as per consensus at Talk:List of sportspeople by nickname ColtsScore 12:49, 10 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Teams

This section needs to be cleaned up: the list of nicknames should rolled up into the table (alphabetical by team name) and citations added. -- BroMonque (talk) 18:39, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
