[edit] MxPx
I've never noticed MxPx being in a Simpsons episode. Apparently they're on this list since the beginning of the wiki. Were they ever involved, or are they just added to the list because it's their dream to do so? Can anyone tell me which episode would feature MxPx then?

MxPx is no longer listed, so I suppose it was a mistake then?

[edit] Actors and comedians, playing themselves
Is this list ordered with a particular structure? If not, then will alphabetical or chronological order (of guest appearance) be most appropriate? –– Constafrequent (talk page) 07:23, 8 Jan 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Episode List
Does anyone think it would be a good idea to change the name list to a table including the episode title, and code?
Seems great to me. Been searching for a list like that. Couldn't find it. Garion96 20:36, 26 August 2005 (UTC)
I started doing this. It will take a while, but should not be too hard to get done eventually.--Gangster Octopus 17:20, 16 December 2005 (UTC)
Sounds great!! How is it coming along? That might also help Constafrequents question about sorting the list. SilentGuy 17:57, 10 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Impersonated voices
"This list does not include those celebrities whose voices have merely been impersonated."
Why not? We ought to have a list of these somewhere. Without it, I can see names being repeatedly added by someone and then removed by someone else claiming that the voice was impersonated. For example, what about Bill Gates? -- Smjg 09:44, 13 Jun 2005 (UTC)

- There is now an article List of celebrities who have been parodied on The Simpsons. A perfect place for Bill Gates since he and (most?) impersonated voices are parodies. 172.128.77.176 19:06, 12 April 2006 (UTC)
- Shame this article has been deleted before I had the chance to see it. Does anybody have a backup? -- Smjg 00:18, 20 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Birth Years
Is there any reason at all to have the birthyears listed after the names? I don't think it's really relevent to the article... SilentGuy 17:58, 10 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Changing the List
I've decided to start changing the listing guests under each episode. It will take a while but it will be a little less confusing because so many non-Wikipedia members keep ading guest stars who haven't even been in the episode.
UPDATE: I'm done. IT took a LONG time. I only mentioned Guest Stars but if anyone wants to add the "also starring" irregulars, go ahead. And I only mentioned key appearances of Marcia Wallace and Phil Hartman so if anyone wants to add more, feel free. ~Scorpion0422
[edit] Moved Page
I moved the page from "List of Celebrities on The Simpsons" to "List of Guest Stars on The Simpsons". This is because there have been several non-celebrity guest stars on The Simpsons, and just saying celebrities and not guest stars says that the list contains celebrity impersonations. ~Scorpion0422
[edit] Phil Hartman
I know that he was an invaluable part of the show, but he was in it so much, wasn't he more of a regular and shouldn'y be listed here? --kralahome 00:54, 17 September 2006 (UTC)
- He was a credited guest star. And I just figured it made sense to list him here since he doesn't guest star anymore.
[edit] Sideshow Bob's first appearance
Season one "The Telltale Head" was Kelsey Grammer credited normally or as a guest star. Your list says there were no guest stars in that episode.
- If memory serves, then his appearance in that episode was non-speaking and he was just briefly seen. -- Scorpion0422 13:36, 9 November 2006 (UTC)
- I can confirm; Marcia Wallace was the only guest star credited in that episode. Sideshow Bob didn't speak prior to Krusty Gets Busted, he always played the slide whistle. 137.222.107.55 12:39, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Format
I think the list format itself could be a bit better. Maybe something with tables, and then take advantage of the new "sortable" table class. Thoughts? -- Ned Scott 03:55, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Propose to remove episode codes
I don't think it's common among the Simpsons pages on wiki to identify episodes primarily on their episode code - usually, just the episode name is used. I don't see any benefit in having episodes identified this way on this page.
For instance, I would change:
- Episode 7G09 - "The Call of the Simpsons"
- Albert Brooks as Cowboy Bob (Credited as A. Brooks)
to
- "The Call of the Simpsons"
- Albert Brooks as Cowboy Bob (Credited as A. Brooks)
(Not sure about whether the ep names should be quoted - is there a policy for that, seems inconsistent across wiki.)
I'm not going to make a change without consensus because the page is going for 'featured' status so not a good time to make sweeping edits. But I think it would be an improvement --Mortice 17:18, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Images
Why were they all removed? those really filled it out and in my opinion were the best part of this article.. showing the scope of the article in imagery. Unless you're planning something Scorpion0422, I think they should stay.WarBaCoN 06:41, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
- We're trying to get the article featured apparantly having images when they aren't really needed could hurt our chances. -- Scorpion0422 06:50, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
- I can't comment on the requirements for Featured Article status, but it's a shame to lose pictures for casual browsers --Mortice 18:21, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
- D'oh maybe we can put them back later.. --WarBaCoN 18:43, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
- I quite liked the images and I thought they added to the article, but I guess there was some issue that they were "fair use" or something like that. -- Scorpion0422 18:47, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
- Actually, if these were freely-licensed images, you could have added these for decoration as much as you would like to. "Fair use" means that it is a copyrighted work that is being used in Wikipedia under very strict rules, which include using them to make an important addition to the list's information. Is that *really* Gillian Anderson? ---Axios023 (talk) 05:58, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Bill Gates in Das Bus
Does anyone know who does Bill Gates voice in the episode Das Bus this is the one where Homer starts his own Internet business and Bill Gates decides to "buy him out." The end credits don't mention it and I don't see it listed anywhere, would like to add Bill Gates into this episode but don't know who did his voice. I know it is not Bill himself as his name is not listed in the credits either. 202.169.221.138 (talk) 22:22, 22 December 2007 (UTC)
