Talk:List of freeways in Australia
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Highway article has a definition of the terms 'Highway' and 'Freeway' that contradicts this listing. For instance, in Australia a freeway or motorway is an inner city road and it not a road that links two cities. In Australia the Bruce highway is about as far away from being a freeway as you can get. It's a 1700Km road connecting Brisbane with Cairns. It is a highway.
- The first 100-odd km of the Bruce Hwy, from Brisbane to Cooroy, is a freeway. North of Cooroy, it reverts back to a dreadful two-lane road.
I don't understand this article. Is it a list of freeway-grade roads, or of actual freeways? As far as I'm concerned, Western Australia has 3 freeways: Mitchell, Kwinana and Graham Farmer. Just because Roe Highway might be freeway-grade for much of its length does not make it a freeway. - Mark 15:25, 8 January 2006 (UTC)
- Yeah, I understand - I'm going to have to try and prune the rest of the page, as the Queensland & NSW sections are really inflated with 2 lane highways. Basically, I think anything thats a freeway or motorway can stay - everything else can be cleared. Boochan 17:44, 20 January 2006 (UTC)

- UPDATE: Article has being pruned and fixed of all roads (with one notable exception) which aren't really Freeways/Motorways/Expressways/Tollways. - Boochan 17:49, 20 January 2006 (UTC)
