[edit] Ambiguity for "ABC"

The listing for "ABC" could refer to a couple of entities. Could an editor disambiguate this entry? Thank you. Courtland 03:49, 25 September 2005 (UTC)

ABC, Inc is a company that sells seamless steel siding, so I put it as ABC seamless steel siding. This is according to source Franchise 500 dml 14:22, 25 September 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Merge in Of List of restaurant chains

  • Disagree - A franchise and a chain are separate distinct things; whilst franchising maybe de facto in some parts of the world; in others it isn't -- you only have to look at, say Beefeater, Brewers Fayre as examples of large UK chains that do not franchise. -- Ratarsed 17:21, 10 November 2007 (UTC)
  • Wait - Neither article is complete, stable or even organized the same way. There are so many redlinks in both articles that a merger now would just make it even harder to clean up links -- for example, remove non-notable names (and those that don't exist), verify and correct redlinks (wrong name/spelling, etc.). • Disagree - What should we expect to be served at "Ace Hardware" for instance? You'd have to split off non-restaurant franchises. Although it's a common business model for restaurants, it's not exclusively so.--71.236.23.111 (talk) 05:33, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
  • Disagree - The article is fine as is, restaurant chains will just make it more confusing. Buddha24 (talk) 07:08, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
