[edit] Guidelines for adding new entries

These are guidelines for adding new films to the lists. Following them helps the functionality and maintenance of the list.

 • Please, enter films which are only covered in a separate section of the article linked as in: The Seventh Cross.
 • After the title, please include the year the film was released. The recommended way is as the example:
Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story (2004)
which displays: Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story (2004)
 • For television films (this includes films that debut on television networks, not films being played on movie channels in syndication), after the film's year release, please include: (TV), which displays: (TV).
 • Multiple titles of the same name should be listed where the year the film was released takes place of the title name. The title is listed once followed by a colon. Follow this example:
Avalon: (1990) & (2001)
which displays: Avalon: (1990) & (2001)

I'm confused about how we should sort this page. By breaking it up into starting numbers, we treat the initial digits as most significant. Fine. But how should we sort the rest of the digits? Should 2001: A Space Odyssey come before 21 Grams (digit order)? Or should 42nd Street come before 400 Blows (numeric order)? Where does 8&frac12 belong? Would 9/11 precede or follow 911 (if the latter was a movie instead of a TV series)? Suggestions? -- Jeff Q 01:53, 23 Apr 2004 (UTC)

I've created a second list sorted numerically. The original list sort of makes sense as the beginning of the A-Z listing, but it has lots of crap that doesn't belong. --Dtcdthingy 00:18, 9 Apr 2005 (UTC)

This now means there are two lists to keep in sync - not an ideal situation. sjorford →•← 21:42, 8 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Okay, I'm confused. I caught at least 20 films on the list that don't start with a number like the article says they should, but only contain a number. I'm hesitant to remove them; should I be? (Also, should 2 Fast 2 Furious be included since there's a two, but it's meant to represent "too"?) Azure Haights 18:53, 16 June 2006 (UTC)

What about movies that reference a non-integral number, such as Pi? It should at least be included between 3 and 4 in the numerical order. --Stolee 17:08, 1 July 2006 (UTC)

I agree Pi needs to be in there. I added it to the end of the three's in both the alphabetical and numerical lists. I don't know if that's the best place for it in the alphabetical list, but at least it's there somewhere.

[edit] Why does this list exist?

The criterion for inclusion is purely arbitrary, and doesn't point to any deeper connection between the listed films. Surely this is below Wikipedia standards. 74.134.255.99 05:45, 4 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] List of Non-Existent Articles and Reformatting the List

I am currently removing all of the non-existent articles from the list, as this page is supposed to be for films that have articles. I have listed them all here, in case someone knows the exact location of a page or if someone wants to create a page for the film and then readd it. I have reformated the list to look uniform to all of the lists of films by letter. I am currently finished with 1-3, and am still working on the rest right now. I hope to finish the page tonight or tomorrow. --Nehrams2020 03:49, 10 August 2006 (UTC)

 • Zero (1994 film)
 • Zero (2000 film)
 • 1 (2000 film)
 • Murder 101
 • Three
 • 14 Up in America
 • 14 Up Born in the USSR
 • Fifteen Minutes (film)
 • The Man Who Broke 1000 Chains
 • 2 (film)
 • Twenty-One (film)
 • 21 Up America
 • Bat 21
 • Twenty Nine Palms
 • 36 Hours (film)
 • Fire! Trapped on the 37th Floor
 • The 39 Steps (2006 film)
 • The Ghost of Flight 401 (film)
 • 5 (film)
 • The Journey of the Fifth Horse
 • The Fifth Floor
 • Five the Hard Way
 • Out in Fifty
 • 52 Pick-Up
 • Car 54, Where Are You? (film)
 • Seven Plus Seven
 • 7 Up in South Africa
 • Woman Times Seven
 • When Eight Bells Toll
 • 8 Millions Ways to Die
 • 9 Months (film)
 • Article 99

I just finished reformatting the page, it now looks like the rest of the lists by letter. Again, the above films can be made into articles by anyone. If any of these links become active, ensure it is the right film and add it to this list. This list is a lot shorter than the other lists, so it would also be great if more films were added. I would recommend searching here to find a large amount of films to be added. I am using this master list to add films to the list of films by letter. --Nehrams2020 05:05, 10 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Adding Even More Films

I have recently added hundreds of films, but there are still thousands of articles that need to be added. The master list of films can be found here that can be used to add films to this list. I have already added the majority of the films from the first 9 sections, but the sections currently reach 29. If you want to assist in adding films, consider using this list. Also, for any film articles you come across, please add the template banner of Film to its talk page. --Nehrams2020 07:55, 16 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Fahrenheit 9-11

I was just about to add this, but then realised: What's the proper word formatting on this title? 131.104.160.105 21:29, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
