Talk:List of fictional rebellions

There is a tag disputing the factual accuracy of this list (which, by the way, is incomplete - a work in progress), yet whoever it was who put the tag on the article has not explained which facts are in question. Please elaborate on this discussion page or remove the tag. As a big fan of both non-fiction and encyclopedias, if I were to add a tag to this article it would more likely be one more like WP:Notability. Garth of the Forest (talk) 08:01, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

- The tag is unneeded and it is not explained what/why it is there for. Therefore I removed it. If the tag should be placed back up there, please explain why, for this artcile is still incomplete. - Prede (talk) 20:41, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for that. I see now that the "references needed" tag is on instead but do we need that for a list that simply links to other articles? Maybe a category tag on each article would be a better way to achieve this end, rather than a separate article which is just a list of other articles.
- I'm still debating whether to add a WP:Notability tag or not. I do have a passing interest in a bit of the content in some of the articles referenced in this list but still question whether this list meets the criteria for inclusion in Wikipedia. Assuming for the moment that it does, what rationale is being used for the order in which the material is presented? Wouldn't a list be more useful (and neutral POV) if it were presented in alphabetical order?
- Personally I like having some lists on Wikipedia if they achieve more than just the same thing we can do with a category, but question having lists of fictional things in an encyclopedia, unless it is, for example, a list of certain works of fiction by a noteworthy author, or some other notable list where more content is warranted than simply listing a bunch of other articles. That is what categories are for.
- Some of the fictional rebellions listed here seem noteworthy enough to warrant their own articles but does a list of fictional rebellions per se in and of itself meet the WP:Notability criteria? Garth of the Forest (talk) 19:00, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
- I find that this page is very useful. The rebelions listed here don't deserve their own articles, but being on this list is fine. BUT please check out List of fictional military organizations . Is this page meant to be a list of just these rebelions? Also List of fictional revolutions and coups‎ is pretty close to this page as well. For now they all are fine, but they do seem a lot alike... - Prede (talk) 23:15, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
