What is the intended scope of this list?
- Shows
- Only USA series? English-language? Sold in more than n countries? Current shows? Produced more than n episodes? Drama/comedy/reality/.../any of the above?
- actresses
- Appeared in more than n episodes or m% of episodes? Appeared in first/last episode/series? Won an award for her appearance? Still alive?
The list as it stands appears heavily USA-biased and English language-biased (there are a few British shows scattered through, and even some odd Australian entries). --Scott Davis Talk 13:54, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
- I would propose the following standard. It's probably more a rule of thumb, rather than a precise standard. I don't think we should restrict this to any particular nation - although that might be one way of splitting if the article becomes too big. Any fictional shows should count, so that would exclude reality tv. Also, probably sketch shows should probably be excluded, as the performers are usually classified as comedians, impressionists, etc, rather than actresses. The shows should be notable, either having an article, or "deserving" one. One episode might be enough, in the case of tv plays, such as Cathy Come Home.
- As for the actresses, they should be notable (having an article or deserving one), by Wikipedia Standards. They should be actresses rather than body doubles, stunt doubles or similar. They should have at least 6 significant appearances in notable shows. Significant here meaning having an important role in the episodes (or plays) in question, the sort a reasonably detailed summary of the episode should include. Each appearance should probably be a named part, and should include a reasonable amount (at least a few minutes) of acting (either lines or gestures or similar for silent characters). The standard that the actress is notable should be enough for most cases, although the other standards would become more important for actresses known for acting in other media, or for other things. We should probably not include celebrity guest appearances in the 6 appearances. Silverfish (talk)
