[edit] Coola Line in GT

"In Dragon Ball GT also appear, when the news inform about the attack, is the cameo of Coola." I think this line should be rewritten, I havent seen GT so I really cant be of any help, but its a very confusing and hard to understand line.205.209.70.189 15:18, 27 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] DBZ Movie 2(I believe)

It should be noted that in the 'Worlds Strongest' movie characters incredibly similar to the Saibaimen, the same exact looks with a separate color palette in fact, appear early on to kidnap Muten Roshi and Bulma as well as to attack Gohan and Oolong.205.209.70.189 14:45, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Stephen

Does anyone have any proof that he is gay?

[edit] Move

The word "other" in this page's title has no proper context. Sure, it mentions not being of a "main race", but how is someone just looking at the article name going to know that. It is not necessary, as we could just link to the other, related pages at the top removing any confusion. Also, why does "Aliens" have a capital letter? I propose it be moved to List of aliens in Dragon Ball. elvenscout742 22:14, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

Although I don't endorse the article, if you are going to move, you should move it to List of Dragon Ball aliens per manual of style guidelines. -- ReyBrujo 02:53, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

the word other is actually very moronic since all races are divided by affiliation, such as heroes and villains, moreso, rather than aliens. essentially, the freeza squadron should not be inserted with the likes of namekians and tsufurujin.

[edit] Garlic Jr.'s Henchmen

Someone look at that article. A lot of that seems to be personal opinion, not fact. Can someone change it slightly>--Suit-n-tie 19:24, 24 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Spada?

When is the name of the sword given? I watched the movie tonight, and TiVo decided to cut the end of the movie off, so I missed everything after Hirudegarn is destroyed. Is it named then? Because Tapion just says that they found an enchanted sword in the Kash Far's temple. He doesn't say any name. Is the name given in the Japanese version instead? I'd just like a source provided before I remove something that might, in fact, be true.

Daishokaioshin 11:19, 3 December 2006 (UTC)

I've never seen it called that. It's either made up or from a bad sub. Nemu 23:07, 3 December 2006 (UTC)
Yeah...I just watched the dub on Saturday, and I've seen it in Japanese ages ago, and the sword isn't named. Onikage725 14:33, 5 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Garlic. Jr's posse

Would anyone be opposed to splitting off the Ginger Three from the Shitennō? Ginger, Nikki and Sansho are from the movies, but Gashyu, Tado, Salt, and Vinegar are certainly not. Onikage725 14:37, 5 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Hirudegarn

Someone should make a main article for Hirudegarn or at least a summary on him in this Alien Wikipedia page. It would be helpful. Johnny542 23:35, 24 December 2006 (UTC)

Hirudegarn's profile seems to have gone completely anyway; under his name is a link...which redirects to this page. ----Mister V —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 81.79.21.109 (talk • contribs).
I added the information from the redirect here. Talk with the user that created the redirect to see what he wanted to do before reconverting the redirect into an article. -- ReyBrujo 20:58, 1 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Bojack

It would be great if someone made a main article about Bojack. He starred in a DBZ Movie and that should be enough. Plus, it's much more interesting to see read about chracters who starred in something big in their own article. Frankly, there's no bad reason for Bojack to have his own article. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Ghadden (talkcontribs) 17:10, 24 February 2007 (UTC).

no, bojack is not a main villain. he's a leading role in the second half of that flick. he doesn't even appear in the first half of that movie. his role is exceptionally limited. also, the role of broly is highly limited as well and there's absolutely no reason that he still has his own profile since he doesn't even appear that much. his battles in two flicks and his re-birth as a bio-construct are not enough for him to have his own profile. the preceding comment is by 149.68.98.18 (talkcontribs) 149.68.98.18: Please sign your posts!.

That seems a bit harsh, Broly appears in three separate movies as a villain, that makes him a lot more important compared to all the other movie villains. I think he deserves a page, we know a lot about him, and he's the legendary super saiyan. - Admeister 200x, 29th August. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Admeister200x (talkcontribs) 04:18, August 29, 2007 (UTC)

He was also the first Super Saiyan outside of the main plot and has a movie that could fit in the original main plot. His entire background is notable along with his family. He even helps understand how weak Goku's power level was (even though his own power level is extremely high). He has had three movies and 2 of which are in order. These points could make an article and have too much info to be contained a profile.[[User:SxeFluff--SxeFluff 16:53, 16 October 2007 (UTC)]] 11:57, sixteen October 2007 —Preceding unsigned comment added by SxeFluff (talkcontribs)

Regardless of whether or not he should have his own article, he should at least be mentioned on this list. I have added his information which seems to have been previously erased. --Xander756 (talk) 07:32, 10 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] This page's layout is terrible!

It looks like the Freezer-related characters and Namekians were just shoehorned in here without a second thought to aesthetics (and I thought the Namekians were fine in their own List). The S 17:31, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

See the talk page for WP:DBZ. I'm sure you'll find the answer you're lookin' for. Power level (Dragon Ball) 04:02, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

Alright, the problem with the Freeza forces being here is that they are completely uncategorized. Whereas the likes of Muuri or the rest of the namekians and yardrats and tsufurujins are aliens, they are under no alignment, however, actual confirmed supporting villains are not considered "other." The likes of Android 17, Nappa, and even Pikkon have profiles of their own, which gives absolutely no restriction for Zarbon and Dodoria to have their own, since even in the broader view, they appeared much more than the latter. the preceding comment is by 149.68.98.18 (talkcontribs) 149.68.98.18: Please sign your posts!.

[edit] Discrimination

This is nothing but discrimination already. Saiyan characters who have less appearance are getting pages whilst characters who appear heavily more are being thrown on a list page. It's moronic. Pikkon, for crying out loud, has an episode span of 5 episodes max and one movie. And he has a page? And Nappa has appeared in 11 episodes in the long run...less than characters who seriously deserve pages. Characters such as Zarbon and Dodoria are being discriminated against heavily for absolutely no logical reason. Zarbon appeared in 14 straight episodes and 4 after equating to 18 episodes and cameo appearances throughout as well as a lenghty role in the bardock special. That character in itself is more deservant of a page than the likes of Pikkon and Nappa combined. This kind of discrimination should seriously not be tolerated. The pages have been in existence for over 2 years now and prior to that cutdown, they were doing just fine. By deleting information about the characters completely, especially Zarbon and Dodoria, there is a constant negation against categorization. For one, these characters are not "other", they are most definitively "villain". nuff said. the preceding comment is by 149.68.98.18 (talkcontribs) 149.68.98.18: Please sign your posts!.

You're the one who's acting moronic by bringing back pages like Zarbon's and Dodoria's for no apparent reason! As I've already explained in my edit summary, WP:DBZ is still discussing things and characters like Paikuhan are to be merged soon. Please be patient. Don't be a dick about it by complaining. Also, make sure you sign your posts using four tildes (~~~~), as it is hard to decifer who's leaving the comment. Power level (Dragon Ball) 19:46, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Zarbon's appearance

I seem to have just missed a minor flame war on Zarbon's description. Even so, Zarbon's transformation was listed as to a "reptilian beast"; this seems to imply that he becomes a reptile instead of an anthropomorphic reptilian creature. As a result, I've changed the description, and added the link, to reptilian humanoid. --Kain 23:29, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Length of this list

This list seems to be becoming quite long, for what is a list of characters that are unrelated other than being non-human/dragon/Saiyan. The listing of Dragon Ball characters has gone through a lot of structural changes, and characters who have had individual pages have been merged into listings such as this one, with the remainder of their descriptions lost. Also where do some of these names come from? Surely not from Japanese transliteration... there are orthographic constructions impossible in the Japanese language. --Kain 23:29, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

Refer to this for why a number of characters have been added to this list. As for why character entries are dramatically shorter, plot summaries are being frowned upon when they make up the bulk of a character's entry. General character traits/abilities and the highlights of a character's role in the series are the general goal for each entry. And as for names, you'll need to elaborate on particulars and why they're impossible. ~SnapperTo 23:54, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
That discussion was <1 month ago so no surprise I missed it. It's still the 2nd or 3rd restructuring of characters I've seen (in ca. 1½ years), and links aren't all being redirected to be resolved. Regarding your other comment, it isn't possible for me to reply without elaboration upon your hidden comment. --Kain 00:14, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
Given your user page and the fact that your reply was coherent, I assume you aren't referring to yourself with your hidden comment. If this assumption is false, I apologize for making an ass out of me and myself. If this assumption is correct, I was referring to myself with the "doesn't know Japanese" line. ~SnapperTo 00:39, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
Er, I wasn't. My assumption was that you were referring to me, as you had used the third person. Apologies for the misunderstanding. I was going to post a couple of examples when I saw your reply in the edit box. These are (amongst others): Jheece (I can't see any means of constructing "jh" in Japanese, and it is not native to English either); and Saibamen (this might as well be a Japanese transliteration of Cybermen), which appears to be "Saibaimen" (actually "Saibaiman"). I'll have to go back and capture screenshots of the title screens (I only have a subtitled version with Japanese audio). It appears that there are inconsistencies in the way Japanese names are transliterated here, and my comment here was to query whether there was a standard other than the Kunrei or Hepburn romanizations. --Kain 00:58, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
I think names are generally spelt to match how they are spelt in the English manga, falling back on transliterations when that isn't available or "agreeable". Don't quote me on that though. During all of the page mergings, much of the Japanese name information (kanji, romaniazation, alternative interpretations, etc.) were left behind, possibly owing to whatever name discrepancies or confusions there are. I might start re-adding this information over the weekend, and in the meantime you might want to ask this question at WP:DBZ (this article doesn't receive a lot of traffic, and therefore you aren't likely to get much help in the near future). ~SnapperTo 02:54, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Saichoro

In the Latin American dub of DBZ, Saichoro(Guru) was always referred to as the Great Patriarch. Should his be noted as well? vic729 03:19, 22, March 2007(UTC)

I didn't know where to go for this but. I noticed that someone said jeice's name is a pun for juice. My friend who just happens to be a nihonjin told me jeice is a pun for cheese. jeice is cheese backwards, and recoome is a jumbled cream. ginyu is a pun for milk in japanese it is gyunyu. baata is obvious.

[edit] End of the article?

How ironic, Yo've been stressing people about "crufty" articles on Dragon Ball characters leading them to merge to riduculously long lists and now this list is up for deletion for being "too superfluous". DO YOU FINALLY SEE MY POINT?! Articles please.Uglyguy2006

[edit] Summary and TOC

I was asked to come here and attempt to moderate a dispute over the use of subheadings in this list. Please understand that it is inappropriate to put the title of every single paragraph in the article under a unique subheading, as such a use of said script clogs the Table of Contents. Read: every item that you place under a consecutive subheading is added to the table of contents. Please exercise common sense here. Look at other list high-quality articles. Every item in the article does not recieve a TOC mention, but instead every category receives a mention. This article must be cleaned up and use common-sense formatting. The Table of Contents should never be the size that it was prior to my starting edit. I suggest that those with a vested interest in this article work hard to summarize the article with subheadings. See my comment here for a background. Please just exercise good common sense. Nswinton\talk 23:33, 31 May 2007 (UTC)

It is fine to condense, but messily shoving everything under sections isn't good. You should at least format them well. If your problem is with the TOC, you can always just copy what Characters of Final Fantasy VIII does with its TOC. TTN 23:40, 31 May 2007 (UTC)
I agree, that's a fantastic format, as evidenced by that articles FA status. Also noteworthy is the fact that the article you mentioned is completely referenced. This one is completely unreferenced. It needs a re-format job and references if it's going to be taken seriously. I'm not sure what you mean by "messily shoving everything under sections", but if you mean what I did with my brief edit was messy, I think your comment is ironic and your criticism misplaced. Maybe you can find a sysop moderator that will back the "a TOC reference for every paragraph" school of thought? Let me know. Nswinton\talk 10:20, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
All you have done is taken the headers away. You have done nothing to format it, such as align the pictures (to work well for all screen sizes) or make it look like more than if someone just copied and pasted a bunch of stubs one after another. And again, it is fine to condense it, but if you have no feel for it (enough to do it correctly), it should be left to someone else. I don't really see what the quality of the article has to do anything. Yes, it's crap, but you could still easily do what the above article does. TTN 10:32, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
I have done a myriad of changes to the article and didn't remove as many headers/sub-headers as the last time I tried formatting it. Hopefully, the page won't be completely undone; if anyone agrees, they will have to undo some edits manually. It was a painful process correcting all those redirects and misspellings and I hate for it to all be gone another time. Lord Sesshomaru

[edit] Kuriza did not belong here

removed him because this is a DBZ list, and should only have offical 100% DBZ chracters The preceding comment was added by Yami Takashi (talkcontribsTakashi page movesblock userTakashi block log)

yeah right, namekians are probably the largest race in importance next to Saiyan and human. the beginning which says "This is a list of fictional extraterrestrials (that are not a part of a main race) who appear in..." is getting changed.

Kuriza was recently re-added for no apparant reasoning, he's not even a dbz character, he's from neko majin. he doesn't belong here. - 72.229.48.178 (talk) 15:44, 16 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Attack Descriptions

I think most of the characters known in the anime and games should have an attack description so it can explain what type of attacks they used. I already put three of these. Johnny542 21:52, 3 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Tapion

I just added a brief line mentioning Tapion's strong resemblance to Crono from Chrono Trigger, which is noteworthy since Akira Toriyama worked on it. This seemed like the best place to put it, since he doesn't have have own page (which is fair enough, he's a pretty minor character). - Admeister200x, 29th August 2007.

Tapion looks NOTHING like Chrono. Chrono has nearly the same hair as SSJ4 Gogeta, not a mohawk, and uses a katana, not a longsword.Tetra Vega 22:11, 29 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:GinyuForcePose.jpg

Image:GinyuForcePose.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit] King Cold

The following is stated under the King Coldd subtopic: "Cold only appears in what seems to be a form similar to Freeza's second form, and it is unknown whether or not he has any other forms, although it is hinted at the idea that Freeza was the only one to create transformations to suppress his ki." [edit] Tsuno/Rittain/Zeso/Banan/Sūi/Commander Cado/Grepe/Tanger/Boysenberry

Why was Tsuno's entry deleted from this page?

because that was an unnamed namekian, a regular elder who was never named neither in the manga nor in the anime. "Suno" however is the name of the little girl living near Muscle Tower. "Tsuno" was removed for the same reason this other unnamed character, "Rittain" was removed. There are no characters named "Rittain" or "Tsuno". - 72.229.48.178 (talk) 15:41, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

There is no "Zeso" either. Here's another fan made name that doesn't belong. He was named "Bund" in one of the games, "Legend of the Super Saiyan" which was an rpg for the super nintendo. But either than that, neither he nor anyone else was given further analysis as to what was the name. According to only the manga and the anime, and taking only the games into account, he was called "Freeza Soldier" and so he shall be referenced only as "Freeza Soldier", not another fan created speculation name. So there's three fan made names that have already been rightfully removed..."Zeso", "Rittain", and "Tsuno". - 72.229.48.178 (talk) 17:05, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

Another bunch of fictional names were removed, this time Banan and Sūi. As if the aforementioned wasn't enough, these are two more fake fan names. Never are these names ever confirmed, either in the manga nor the anime. The Freeza soldier is the only confirmation of name the fellow has received, from that race or otherwise. 72.229.48.178 (talk) 02:08, 27 April 2008 (UTC)

Another hooplah of fancruft fake names deleted. This time from Dodoria's Elite section. None of those soldiers were EVER named. If anything, they would be called "Dodoria's Elite Soldier 1 to 4" but that's about it. They do not have separate names, such as the fake ones given: Commander Cado, Grepe, Tanger, and Boysenberry. This is getting very annoying, deleting these fancruft names over and over. 72.229.48.178 (talk) 01:50, 25 May 2008 (UTC)

You're incorrect about Tsuuno, actually. He's named in Dragon Ball volume 28, "The Boy from the Future," chapter 327, "The End of Everything." (If you're reading the VIZ manga, which is spilt between Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z, it's actually Dragon Ball Z volume 12, "Enter Trunks," chapter 133, "The End of Everything.") Village elder Muri says on the opening page, "B-but Saichiro-sama, I don't see any of the members of elder Tsuuno's village..."

Vegeta explains that it must have been the village that he destroyed, because he wasn't one of "Freeza's men" at that point in time; therefore, Tsuuno's village wasn't revived. Chibi Gohan (talk) 04:39, 31 May 2008 (UTC)

It is a random Kanassan in the beginning. It isn't someone that deserves to be listed. For one, because the character isn't even seen onscreen. And you can't say that he is because there are hundreds of Kanassans in that scene. There's hundreds of Kanassans killed, maybe you want to add all hundred of them and give them names, but that isn't needed. Also, Demetrious is not the same Kanassan that hurts Panbukin. He's just a regular Kanassan, one that isn't even seen, his name is heard once in the background. They are random people. It's a fault that they yell out names in the English version, but they weren't named in the original Japanese, bar except Tooro. "Demetrious" isn't worth mentioning. The same way that all the other ten thousand regular soldiers aren't worth mentioning. 72.229.48.178 (talk) 20:36, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

Actually, the captain has yellow hair; the soldier whom Freeza kills just has a white Mowhawk and the captain dosn't have even one strand of white hair. So actually, they're both idivisiual characters. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.244.125.218 (talk) 03:09, 25 May 2008 (UTC)

you are wrong. that captain is the same with the mohawk. he does not have a mohawk. he gets his hair split into halves, and that makes you think he starts off with a mohawk, whereas he has his beard slashed to a moustache also. 72.229.48.178 (talk) 03:22, 25 May 2008 (UTC)

The soldier you incorrectly referred to as Pomegren is Frog-Face. In this video Frog-Face is killed at 9:17:

In the digitaly re-mastered season 4 box set, in the credits, I saw that "Bird-Face" (as Vegeta calls him) being credited under the name "Rittain" and it also said he was voiced by Chuck Huber. If you don't belive me, watch the ending credits of the episode in this video: http://dbzue.blogspot.com/2008/05/dragonball-z-episode-110-battle-on.html —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.244.125.218 (talk) 18:27, 25 May 2008 (UTC)

There is absolutely no certainty that the dodo soldier is named rittain. as i said, please don't assume that. rittain can just as easily be a regular person infected with the black water mist or something or another who yells out in the episode. there is no assurance enough to call him that. the name being listed in the credits is not sufficient. 72.229.48.178 (talk) 23:51, 25 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Proof of Demetrious

In the recent Double Feature release of the two T.V Specials, as Panbukin is about to crush the Kanassan, you hear him say: "Commander, I've drawn blood. Now the foot must rise and fall". That voice sounds like Demetrious. The commander than says "Good. I will see you at the dawn, Demetrious". Implying that Demetrious is the one who shot at Panbukin. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.244.125.218 (talk) 22:59, 25 May 2008 (UTC)

I'm going to leave it there because at least now it states that this "Demetrious" shot at Panbukin and not Bardock, because nobody scarred Bardock in that scene. At least now it's fixed although this Demetrious fellow is very, very trivial, inconsequential in fact. But since you want him listed that badly...whatever. 72.229.48.178 (talk) 23:58, 25 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Tsuno

Tsuno is an official name. In episode 105 of DBZ, you can hear one of the Namekians say: "But Saichoro, we don't see anyone from Elder Tsuno's village!" Also, at the start of volume 12 of the DBZ manga, the Namek calls Tsuno by the name of "Caracol". So, Tsuno is a official name after all. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.244.125.218 (talk) 23:22, 26 May 2008 (UTC)

Oh! If anything, Tsuno is not an official name. In fact, Caracol would be an official name. 72.229.48.178 (talk) 00:26, 27 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] TTN and Sesshomaru edits

Of recent, TTN and Sesshomaru have come and deleted approximately half the information from the page, including main movie villains. Anyone else agree that all those characters should be deleted? I for one disagree with this and have re-added everyone who was deleted prior. I hope that TTN discusses here as to why he feels they should not be included. Anyone who is a character should be included, in my opinion. I hope others will voice their opinion. 72.229.48.178 (talk) 03:09, 31 May 2008 (UTC)

You're very wrong, have you read WP:NOTABLE yet? You can list every single minour character in Dragon Ball wiki, not here. Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 03:12, 31 May 2008 (UTC)

That is understandable, but the likes of Bojack are not minor. Movie villains are not minor. Characters such as "Zeshin" and "Bun" may be minor, inconsequential even. But movie villains are not minor. Bojack is as deservant to have info as Cooler. 72.229.48.178 (talk) 03:14, 31 May 2008 (UTC)

Then remove Coola, he shouldn't even have his own section IMHO. Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 03:16, 31 May 2008 (UTC)

But at that rate, the only characters remaining on the pages would be those who appear in 5+ episodes. That would seriously cut-down on tons of people who play a major role in the single episodes they are in. For example, the same can be said about the Shadow Dragons. Rage, Haze, Oceanus, and Naturon each appear in 1 episode. Does that mean that they should be deleted too...? It isn't right to judge based on how much the character appears. All the movie villains getting deleted is nonsense. If they were inconsequential, they wouldn't have entire movies made after them. Furthermore, all the major and supporting movie villains are important. However, the same cannot be said about the likes of Zeshin and Bun...and the hooplah of other scene-limited characters. As the sincerity of importance goes, every movie villain seriously played a big role. To delete them wouldn't be right. I'm hoping other members will come to voice their opinion. I feel all the major characters should be kept, as well as the supporting ones. Only inconsequential characters, such as "Tooro, Demetrious, Tsuno, Zeshin, etc." can be debatable for deletion. 72.229.48.178 (talk) 03:37, 31 May 2008 (UTC)

72, why don't you add back only the characters that had kind of an impact and negotiate from there, instead of re-adding the whole bunch that even you agree were too minor? Also, as Sesshomaru has said, if you want every trivial character to be mentioned, the Dragonball wiki may be a better outlet. – sgeureka tc 04:56, 31 May 2008 (UTC)

I already mentioned who I think should be kept. Those that should not be removed are as follows:

  • Bojack
  • Bido
  • Bujin
  • Gokua
  • Zangya
  • Appule
  • Doore
  • Naise
  • Thousar
  • Lord Slug
  • Amond
  • Daizu
  • Kakao
  • Rakasei & Rezun
  • Angira
  • Dorodabo
  • Gyoshu and Kakuja
  • Medamatcha
  • Zeeun
  • Lychee
  • Zaakuro

That's 21 supporting characters that were removed that shouldn't be removed. And those that CAN be removed, who are inconsequential, are as follows:

  • Bund and Vug
  • Humanoid Captain
  • Cowardly Captain
  • Commander
  • Dodo Bird Soldier
  • Dodoria's Elite
  • Foot Soldier
  • Freeza Soldier
  • Malaka
  • Planthorr
  • Raspberry
  • Blueberry
  • Frog-Face
  • Horned Soldier
  • Goose
  • Namole
  • Oggers
  • Orin
  • Strock
  • Strong
  • Caracol
  • Warrior-Type Namekians
  • Young Namekians
  • Arlians
  • Atla
  • Aruhuajins
  • Kanassajin Commander
  • Demetrious
  • Tooro
  • Meatians
  • Ritojins
  • Bun
  • Emi
  • Zeshin

And that's 34 inconsequential characters that can be removed. I'd say I can tell the basis of notability. But to remove someone such as Zangya, for example, would be a mistake. Zangya fights and defeats Krillin with ease, returns to Bojack, battles Gohan, and is struck from behind by Bojack himself. I'd say that a character like that is never inconsequential. Anyone who was included as a playable character in Budokai Tenkaichi 3 isn't inconsequential. So basically, there's 21 characters that were removed who should not be removed, and there's 34 that may be removed. Any thoughts? 72.229.48.178 (talk) 15:21, 31 May 2008 (UTC)

I agree and disagree at the same time with you. Sure the 34 characters may make only one appearence in a story arc or episode, they still play major roles in the storylines in which they appear. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.244.125.218 (talk) 15:54, 31 May 2008 (UTC)

All of those characters either play absolutely no role in the story or only appear in one film. Absolutely minor characters cannot be covered here. There is an encyclopedic standard to be upheld, and those characters do not add to the understanding of the series. Characters that only appear in one film can be covered within that film. If a character is overall minor (King Cold, Kiwi, and the single members of the Ginyu Force), but has some sort of relevance within the series, they will be mentioned within groupings or the sections of other character. If any of those characters above happen to fit into that category, they will be added into that. TTN (talk) 15:57, 31 May 2008 (UTC)
TTN, with all respect, I believe that mentality is the worst I've heard thus far. Almost all other shows on wikipedia cover minor characters. Thus, although they are minor, they are rather important. And this is highly against all that you believe. For one, Kiwi, King Cold, and the Ginyu are all extremely major characters. You are underanalyzing the word "minor". Let me break it down for you simple. Major characters are those who battle the heroes of the series. Minor characters are those who do absolutely nothing but stay in the background. Now...that taken into account, some members of the Ginyu are extremely MAJOR characters. In fact, you couldn't even have an entire saga if it weren't for them. Otherwise, you'd only have three characters listed on the pages, and they would be Freeza, Cell, and Buu and that would be all. And this, my friend, would be extremely stupid and arrogant, because it would not only negate from the overall conception of the series, but the actual coverage of the series run. The page, currently, is a mess right now because it isn't even separated in identification order, but in alphabetical order. This is a horrid, mutilation of an idea. I'm sorry, but I think we should agree to disagree here. But I know for a fact that you can't have any saga without the supporting villains. It's foolish to think otherwise. Supporting villains are MAJOR characters in the series run. I agree with the likes of those I listed above are minor, but Kiwi, King Cold, and the Ginyu are all major people. This I strongly and confidantly back up, full throttle and without a shred of doubt. I agree if you wanted to remove the likes of Blueberry and Raspberry, but to delete King Cold is a huge error on anyone's part. The best bet is to keep all the characters who appear in the original manga. So basically, if King Cold is important in the manga, then he's important here. 72.229.48.178 (talk) 01:48, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Deletion Consensus: Further characters that should be deleted

I have more to say on this issue. There is heavy favoritism going on here. After carefully evaluating the "list of Saiyans" page, I've found that most of the people listed there are far less important and extremely inconsequential than many whom were recently removed here. To keep with this type of guideline, I believe these people have WAY more merit to be deleted than all the people who were recently deleted here. For further info...
  • broli - appears in 3 non-manga movies. Highly inconsequential movie villain.
  • burdock - appears in only 1 small strip and 1 movie. extremely inconsequential.
  • onio - does not even appear in dbz, only in neko majin, shouldn't even be listed.
  • paragus - appears in half of 1 movie.
  • seripa - appears in two scenes of 1 movie. EXTREMELY inconsequential.
  • toma - appears in two scenes of 1 movie. TREMENDOUSLY inconsequential.
  • tullece - appears in only 1 movie.
  • king vegeta - appears in 4 scenes throughout the ENTIRE series run.
  • bra - appears in GT briefly for a few scenes here and there.
  • future gohan - appears only in a percentage of 1 movie.
  • son goku jr. - appears in one movie.
  • vegeta jr. - appears in one scene of one episode. EXTREMELY, HEAVILY inconsequential.
  • gogeta - appears in one fight segment of 1 movie.
  • veku - appears in 1 scene of 1 movie.

TTN, why don't you delete these people too, they aren't important at all. If anything, they are all less important than those you decided to delete from the extraterrestrials list. We can't keep characters just because of who they are. If we base it on appearance, then every person I listed here needs to be deleted to follow the same routine cleanup you want on this page, my dear TTN. Please, see if you agree with me, because right now, I seriously want Broli and the rest I just listed deleted until all the important people are re-added in order to follow the same consensus and not be given to favoritism. 72.229.48.178 (talk) 02:03, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

72.229.48.178, when there's alot of work to be done on an article, people usually spread it out over a period of time, to reduce the workload on themselves. If there's anyone that needs removal that hasn't been taken away to the great kingdom of the deleted, it probably just means they haven't gotten to it yet.--KojiDude (C) 02:10, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

Well, my dear friend, lets get to it now. It is a simple process, is it not? Here's some more from the other lists that deserve to be deleted:

supernatural beings:

  • mez - inconsequential 1 episode filler character.
  • goz - inconsequential 1 episode filler character.
  • gregory - inconsequential background character that appears in less than 10 episodes onscreen but remains background.
  • bubbles - same as above, but with no speech at all.
  • snake princess - inconsequential 1 episode filler character.
  • Dai Kaioshin - inconsequential 1 episode filler character, appearing in only 1 scene.
  • North Kaioshin - same as above.
  • South Kaioshin - same as above.
  • West Kaioshin - same as above.

earthlings:

  • angela - highly unimportant 1 episode filler character.
  • arale norimaki - inconsequential 2-episode character.
  • erasa - inconsequential filler character in less than 5 episodes total.
  • haiya dragon - filler side animal, appearing in 2 movies and in garlic junior saga.
  • sharpner - inconsequential filler character in less than 5 episodes total.
  • miss pizza - inconsequential filler character, no prevalence whatsoever in cell games saga.
  • lao - inconsequential character, appearing in only 1 episode.
  • vodka - inconsequential character, appearing in only 1 episode.

extraterrestrials:

  • tsufurujin - approximately 3 scenes altogether, the tuffles are unimportant, aside from baby.
  • yardratians - inconsequential species, appearing in 1 episode onscreen, in one scene.

how's that. i went through the lists. would you like me to delete all these people I just listed from the three lists. It is easy to do, you know. We don't have to fix this list and leave all the rest. it can be done within a matter of seconds. 72.229.48.178 (talk) 02:18, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

Consensus doesn't happen in seconds. Before any action can be taken to delete somone on the other lists, we have to decide which ones to delete. It was never anyone's intention to fix this list and leave the others be.--KojiDude (C) 02:23, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

that's understandable, but why was this list brought into discussion and the other lists left the way they are. is it not self evident, the information that i have presented, for the characters who appear less than those who were deleted. shouldn't we view the other pages with the same perspective that this page is being looked at? i hold true to staying with the same guideline. if so, then every person i have listed here and now should be deleted. what other consensus needs to be reached. they all appear in movie scenes, and are limited to 1 episode arcs, and so they shall be deleted using the previous guideline for the extraterrestrial page. i'm making things a lot easier by pointing out to you which characters are inconsequential, i'm saving you the trouble of having to discuss furthermore whether or not they are. what i'm saying here isn't really debatable. it's common logic and factual. moreso, the characters i listed here are even less important than those that were deleted, and therefore, if allowed, i can remove them. what do you say? 72.229.48.178 (talk) 02:28, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

When someone has a lot of work to do, they spread it out over periods of time. That's what's happeneing here. It's not like there's any deadline for it to get done.--KojiDude (C) 02:30, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
That's understandable. But why prolong what is so very obvious. Please tell me. Please explain what is debatable. Is "vodka", who appears in 3 scenes of one episode important, is this debatable...I'm serious. What is there to be discussed. Please, I know there's no rush, but I pretty much explained full well here what the situation is. Why give it thought. I already investigated fully and have found all people corresponding to this minor level of importance in order to save you the hassle. lets discuss who you think should be kept from the people i just listed. 72.229.48.178 (talk) 02:34, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
Dude, calm down. It's being prolonged because the people working on it are either busy or tired. It's just a Wikipedia article, for christ's sake. We're not arguing that it shouldn't be done.--KojiDude (C) 02:38, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

I am calm...what gave you the impression that I'm not calm...? I'm just pointing this out. With your permission, I can remove them and the discussion can continue to be held here if there's someone who should be kept. In any case, I've fully listed every person who is inconsequential, and fully explained as to why. I sort of want to save you the trouble, that's all. I'm calm though, there's no reason to think otherwise. 72.229.48.178 (talk) 02:41, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Current level of importance

At present, the list of characters on the extraterrestrials page, based on their actual level of appearance in episodes is as follows:

  • Cooler - 2 movies
  • Dodoria - 9 episodes and 2 movies
  • Dr. Myuu - 11 episodes
  • Gear - approximately 60 episodes
  • General Rilld - 7 episodes
  • Captain Ginyu - 14 episodes
  • Jeice - 13 episodes and 1 movie
  • Burter - 12 episodes
  • Recoome - 12 episodes
  • Guldo - 3 episodes
  • King Cold - 4 episodes
  • Cui - 4 episodes
  • Muri - 3 episodes
  • Nail - 7 episodes
  • Paikuhan - 7 episodes
  • Saibaimen - 3 episodes
  • Saichoro - 12 episodes
  • Zarbon - 17 episodes and 2 movies

So basically, based on level of importance, in this order:

  • 1. Gear/Giru
  • 2. Zarbon
  • 3. Captain Ginyu
  • 4. Jeice
  • 5. Recoome
  • 6. Burter
  • 7. Saichoro/Guru
  • 8. Dodoria
  • 9. Dr. Myuu
  • 10. Nail
  • 11. Paikuhan/Pikkon
  • 12. General Rilld/Rilldo
  • 13. King Cold
  • 14. Cui/Kiwi
  • 15. Guldo
  • 16. Saibaimen
  • 17. Muri
  • 18. Cooler

This is basically the outlook for the page, based on actual appearance of the characters. 69.113.40.154 (talk) 22:00, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

They are arranged in alphabetical order.--KojiDude (C) 23:43, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

I think what he meant is that some characters are more prevalent and important than others. Giru, Zarbon, and Captain Ginyu are at the top level of importance. Recently, a hooplah of information was deleted from Zarbon by TTN, which is a huge error. If anything the rest of the characters need trimming on other pages. Zarbon's profile seems like a perfect guideline to follow. Since there's only 18 people altogether...they should be covered as much as possible. Trimming them furthermore is complete homicide of the page's information. 207.38.206.178 (talk) 03:33, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

Keeping track of who appears how much, etc. is an important factor. I assume that if the page needs further trimming, the likes of Muri and the Saibaimen can be removed at a later date, considering their overall level of importance is also highly limited. But this is actually a good way of maintaining who is more important, etc. I agree that Zarbon and Ginyu are at a high apparatus of importance, they do hold prevalence to other characters. However, other than the fact that Zarbon is my favorite character, I would like to mention that the likes of Cooler are also important. I don't know if we should negate the characters completely just because they are limited to movies. If that were to happen, then others from the other pages need to be removed as well (Broly and Bardock, for example), who have also appeared lesser than Cooler. I assume that the 14 profiles currently on the page is a nice and short way to maintain the page. The only thing I don't agree with is the combination of all the Ginyu Special Corps into one profile instead of separate ones. However, I'm not interested enough to quarrel over that. As long as Zarbon gets to keep some form of information, I feel the page is fine. I also feel that TTN shouldn't have trimmed Zarbon's profile since now it fails to mention the method in which he defeated Vegeta and the method in which he was killed. I've come to realize that it's best left alone though, since reverting would only cause further complications. I've decided to let it be. When it comes to the actual presentation of the page, other than that one detrimental factor, I feel that the rest of the page is looking better since all the rest of the lesser characters have been removed. 72.229.48.178 (talk) 13:23, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
Additionally, I have trimmed all the profiles to go along with TTN's prior adjustments. Now the profiles have no fancruft or personal opinion within them. 72.229.48.178 (talk) 13:59, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
The only thing I don't agree with is the exclusion of the method in which Zarbon is killed, which should be noted. Also, the one word of "handsome" is descriptive, as it is used by Toriyama's manga to describe the character. The rest of the trimming seems to be alright. Maybe the Ginyu Special Corps can be trimmed a bit, but I don't see anything else that needs trimming...maybe the overall inclusion of Muri and the Saibaimen is debatable. But that's about it. 72.229.48.178 (talk) 03:14, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
