Talk:List of creatures in Primeval/Archive 1
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
While I don't have anything against the episode order version perse, the other similar lists I've seen have been alphabetical. --GracieLizzie 22:56, 10 February 2007 (UTC)
Rex
It said on the part about Rex's species, that it is not known what happened to him at the end of episode 5. He was in episode 6, so he is still alive. 10:50, 18 March 2007 User:Shadowv70
Screenshots/Infoboxes
I have added screenshots and taxoboxes to the page. You better thank me for that - I pent well over 1 1/2 hours doing it. Na, just kidding. I do it for the good of Primeval lovers. --Cuddly Panda 10:06, 26 April 2007 (UTC)

Revert of 06:40, 30 May 2007 by Anthony Appleyard
- It is not proven from the show that the Modern Age to Carboniferous anomaly never closed. That it was not SEEN to close, is not the same. Anthony Appleyard 06:46, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
- It was stated in episode three that it hadn't closed and showed no signes of doing so. Until it is mentioned again we have to assume that the status is the same.
Gorgonopsid
I found the real life species of Gorgonopsid on Wikipedia, so I added it to its infobox
Giant Spiders
For the record. Nick: The spiders are off the hook. It’s the centipede that’s the killer. THE GIANT SPIDERS NEVER KILLED ANYBODY! So whoever keeps saying that they did can stop right now! Nubula 02:46, 7 July 2007 (UTC)
Thank you very much, I changed it several times but someone allways delete the correct information and put the spiders as the killers - Regards Tino
Utahraptor
Should Utahraptor be added to the list? I'm not sure as we have never even seen it, cannot get any picture of it, and it was only briefly mentioned in what was probably, without the in-universe perspective, an error. If you feel diffrent, please feel free to convince me otherwise. Nubula 18:31, 26 August 2007
Futuristic Predator
This page Futuristic Predator should be deleted. Most of it is fan fiction, their is a better version on the Primeval creatures page and this creature has no claim on notibility. Not to mention the conflict of interest. I say delete it. Nubula 17:53, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
Seperate articles
I say the fictional creatures in the series (predator, parasite and giant spider) should have their own articles. Look at the articles for Doctor Who! Seperate articles, plus one big list. ----- Cuddly Panda (talk · contribs) review me! 09:16, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
- I disagree. In fact I oppose any further expansion. We do not need two articles on the same thing and none of these creatures is noteworthy so you can stop right their troll.Nubula 14:44, 12 September 2007 (UTC)

- Firstly their is more to say about those charaters and this is not about trying to immitate doctor who. And on further note I won't delete the info boxes if you did them right but this is the first time you've managed it.Nubula 15:08, 13 September 2007 (UTC)
- What? I was wrong last time? Well, I'm busy, so I'd appreciate if someone else could do the rest of the boxes. Oh, and I'm not a troll. ----- Cuddly Panda (talk · contribs) review me! 09:27, 14 September 2007 (UTC)
- Firstly you've ignored the point I made about their being limmited information about these creatures as apposed to the Dr. Who creatures. Secondly yes most of it was wrong last time, do you even cheak for error, factual and typing in your work because some of the mistakes where just carless. Thirdly don't look at me to finish these boxes, I'm busy working on two completly new Primeval pages, three if I deside to give the A.R.C its own page rather than a sub-section. Oh and I'd say you are a troll given that you removed the bulk of one of your comments on this page after typing it. Next time have the courage to say what you realy think. Nubula 11:44, 14 September 2007 (UTC)
- I'm sick of this. I am no longer working on this stupid article until the next article comes out. I tried to be nice, I tried to prevent losing my temper, I tried to give you ideas, but no, so how the hell was I supoosed to know you were doing other aticles? How the hell am I to do this stuff if you jump on my bak and stop me! Well, you can jump off a cliff fo all I care, so stop being such a big fat flamer. ----- Cuddly Panda (talk · contribs) review me! 02:06, 15 September 2007 (UTC)
- I haven't flamed you. I pointed out that you DID mess up some of the infoboxes and that you should finish putting the rest of them up on this page. Try to grow a thicker skin and not be so petulant and childish because in the real world not everyone will agree with you or your ideas. Nubula 12:25, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

Alphabetizing
The alphabetizing is really a requirement for a list, so perhaps we could either slip the 'other animals' section into the alphabet, or simply delete it. ----- Cuddly Panda (talk · contribs) review me! | join the Zoo Tycoon taskforce! 23:56, 5 October 2007 (UTC)

Unknown Animals
This section is pointless. The wallpapers are promotional material and are not 100% fact. The 'Millipede' is obviously supposed to be the Artropleura, and the 'Bird of Prey' I am pretty sure is supposed to be the Pteranodon or Anurognathus. The section on the video creatures is uneeded. They are just simple designs done as a backdrop or for another production. ----- Cuddly Panda (talk · contribs) review me! | join the My Chatroom] 10:13, 20 October 2007 (UTC)
- Personal opinions are no substitute for extant facts. You will provide evidence for your claims AT ONCE or else you have nothing. Nubula 14:33, 20 October 2007 (UTC)
- I agree with Panda, the opening line of the article says this, "The following is a list of creatures that appear in the ITV science fiction television series Primeval". Creatures in the wallpapers and other promotional material did not appear in the series and thus have no place on this page.--NeilEvans 15:42, 20 October 2007 (UTC)
- Is that realy the best you can do? The opening paragraph can be reworded and their unsure status in the Primeval Cannon is mentioned in the section in question. Now care to address any point I've made or are you just spamming. Nubula 15:54, 20 October 2007 (UTC)

- Not Original research as I have not stated anything about these creatures that was not been provided by the shows producers or actors. They all have citations, have been published by the copyright holders and their unsure place in the Primeval Cannon is debated between fans and is openly stated as such in the section in question. Now care to address any comment I've made or are you just going to run away like they both did? Nubula 13:08, 21 October 2007 (UTC)

"The creature is referred to as a millipede"- where? And the "Exclusive video creatures" section basically talks about creatures that are either from Primeval or something else, and says that a creature "may be Mononykus." because "Shuvuuia never appeared in The Giant Claw". The other bit of OR has been removed. --OZOO (What?) 13:45, 21 October 2007 (UTC)
- Now your just nitpicking to be honest. It was referred to as a Millipede on the official site. And if you had bothered reading the the Exclusive video section you'd know that the exact series the creatures are realy from is unresolved at this time and the section itself is clearly temporary. The creatures will either be deleted if they are old models from other productions or moved into the main list if its proved that they are from Primeval when more infomation becomes available. Nubula 14:08, 21 October 2007 (UTC)
- I have read the section, and I can see that it is temporary. However, I maintain that it is OR. --OZOO (What?) 14:24, 21 October 2007 (UTC)
- Prove it. Because personal opinions are no substitute for extant facts. Nubula 14:27, 21 October 2007 (UTC)
- And one more thing, either refute my claim about the Millipede's name or concede the point. Simply ignoring it won't fly. Nubula 14:41, 21 October 2007 (UTC)
- OK, I concede the Millipede point, but I still want to see the citation. "personal opinions are no substitute for extant facts."- no, I grant you. FACT: "These may appear in series two or these could simply be old models used from the "Walking with ..." series spin-offs Sea Monsters and Chased by Dinosaurs. Although Shuvuuia never appeared in The Giant Claw it may be Mononykus.[18]" is unverified, OR and someone's personal opinion. --OZOO (What?) 15:02, 21 October 2007 (UTC)
- So you Concede but you don't Concede? Make up your mind because I gave you citation for the Millipede, the old official site. And I see nothing wrong with the above statment. They WHERE shown in the primeval Video and may be from the second series, hence their inclusion here, yet they ARE exactly the same as those seen in the "Walking with ..." series spin-offs. These are statments of fact and I can provide video clips if you want to argue the point. As for the Shuvuuia/Mononykus, it could be either, the original poster stated it was Shuvuuia but I thought that was unproven and it does look exactly like Mononykus from the Giant Claw as stated. I suppose you could reword it to say an unknown Alvarezsauridae instead but, again, that's just a nitpick. Nubula 15:16, 21 October 2007 (UTC)

I will concede if I can see the citation. No citation=not verfiable. Also, the bit about it maybe appearing is a WP:CRYSTAL violation as well as OR- "it may appear, and it may have already appeared elsewhen." is basically what it says. Also, I think the "Beach Monster" section should be moved to the main section- it'll definately happen and we have a source for it. --OZOO (What?) 15:59, 21 October 2007 (UTC)
- I gave you one, the old official site, ignoring me avails you nothing. The image even has the name it came under. Also its not a WP:CRYSTAL violation as that concerns unverifiable speculation which it is not. Again I can provide video clips if you want to continue to argue the point. Again, it they eventualy be confirmed and moved into the list proper or deleted depending on what data becomes available. Also the Beach Monster stays where it is until I know what exactly what it is and can fill in a infobox for it because at the moment it is a clear example of an unknown animal. Nubula 16:11, 21 October 2007 (UTC)
- "old official site"- Prove it. At the moment I'm relying on your word that it was there. It is speculation, unverifiable and OR to include creatures that may appear in Primeval or something else. Please provide these video clips. --OZOO (What?) 16:36, 21 October 2007 (UTC)
- Calling me a liar? Slander is a serious charge boy, got anything to back it up? because the burden of proof is on you. Also saying speculation over and over again does not make you right. As i've pointed out the Definition which you ignore because it does not agrre with you. Nubula 16:47, 21 October 2007 (UTC)
- Verifiability, not truth- I'm not calling you a lier, I'm saying it's not verifiable. Verification is a core policy. It is not up to me to prove anything- you're the one who wants to keep the line in, and so you should prove the existance. The two fish are almost certaintly the creatures from Sea Monsters and so should not be in the article. The other creature is just a model and so there is no concrete evidence as to it's existance. --OZOO (What?) 17:15, 21 October 2007 (UTC)
- It was verifiable when the site was till up and I even linked there. By your logic we should remove all the qoutes from dead people as they are no longer around to ask about it. The burden of Proof is still on you as you are the one calling me a liar even though these images where published, can be authenticated and still have the original names they came under. Also it is not a Verifiability, not truth as it has already been published by a reliable source and even linked there. Also almost certaintly does not mean anything as they where in a Primeval video and could appear in the series as stated in the article. Nubula 17:27, 21 October 2007 (UTC)

In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
