[edit] Cumberland and Allegheny
Added etymology for these two. Cumberland named for the English county not the Duke (unlike most Cumberlands in the US). Like most PA counties named for English ones, the county seat is named for the English county's town, in this case, Carlisle, England. Allegheny County was named for the river, which in turn in a Lenape word of uncertain origin and meaning (some say "fine river" and the like, others of a legendary ancient tribe). It would be nice if the chart's info cited sources, like the List of counties in Massachusetts page does. Pfly (talk) 03:54, 15 December 2007 (UTC)
