Talk:List of counties in Michigan
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I'm not sure where to bring this up, but most of the maps on the county pages have an error: they show two Isle Royales (or would it be Isles Royale?) to the left of Keweenaw county, as in this map. The smaller island should be erased, to appear as in this map.
For what it's worth, the following counties are the only ones with a correct map, the rest showing the incorrect maps:
- Allegan County, Michigan
- Bay County, Michigan
- Benzie County, Michigan
- Berrien County, Michigan
- Calhoun County, Michigan
- Cass County, Michigan
- Clinton County, Michigan
- Eaton County, Michigan
- Ingham County, Michigan
- Jackson County, Michigan
- Kalamazoo County, Michigan
- Keweenaw County, Michigan
- Livingston County, Michigan
- Monroe County, Michigan
- Muskegon County, Michigan
- Presque Isle County, Michigan
- Saginaw County, Michigan
- St. Clair County, Michigan
- Wayne County, Michigan

- The rest of the maps can be found at this page on Commons. They can be substituted for the bad maps. Rmhermen 05:51, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Boundary changes?
Two interesting quotes from the article:
- "The boundaries of counties in the U.S. state of Michigan have not changed since 1897."
- "This transfer of territory from St. Clair to Macomb was the first and only county boundary change in Michigan since the early 20th century."
What is the first sentence supposed to mean — perhaps that there haven't been new counties since then? Nyttend (talk) 03:44, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
