Talk:List of compositions by Philip Glass

[edit] wrong link
The link to "One Plus One" gets redirected to "sympathy for the devil (film)" even though the 1+1 composition mentioned in this article has nothing to do with the film. woonie 16:22, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
- I removed the linking for the phrase and also for any red links for work titles. Other titles for which there are not yet pages on Wikipedia are also listed, but not linked. Rather than make all of them red links, it makes more sense to add the links here when and if the pages are created. —scarecroe 17:03, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
Are you sure it makes sense to count this
- Two Interludes from the CIVIL warS for orchestra (1984)
as a separate work? May-be it's just a published compilation.
[edit] Philip Glass's Violin Concerto II
In the 2007 book Rant by Chuck Palahniuk, in Chapter 17 titled: Hit Men, a character considers Philip Glass's Violin Concerto II essential soundtrack to the death of one of his close friends. Which Philip Glass work is that? I see that so far he's only written one Violin Concerto and that a second Violin concerto is among his new works in various stages of completion. I know this is not what Wikipedia is for, but can someone help me with this? Many thanks in advance.
- I think it's a relevant discussion here as far as pop culture references go. That said, does the text specifically read "Violin Concerto II"? Alternatively, the author may be referring to the second movement of the Violin Concerto. Or it may be a joke, implying any number of things. —scarecroe 19:47, 31 July 2007 (UTC)

- It's written exactly how I wrote it above in italics. Perhaps that character, or even the author have made a mistake? I think the book is set in the future, so maybe the author considers that Violin Concerto II has been completed and released by then?

- Ah. Well then there you go. —scarecroe 22:00, 31 July 2007 (UTC)

However, to date, there is no Violin Concerto II, right? Or has it been released, albeit unfinished? That was me before, btw, forgot to log in before. --h_a 23:12, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
What does this withdrawn mean, for the violin concerto?213.35.169.124 14:37, 4 August 2007 (UTC)
- Presumably it's because the composer doesn't feel that the work is up to standard. Post-publication jitters! ▫ Urbane Legend chinwag 23:11, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
(a third collaboration with Ravi Shankar)_
Does this mean that it was the third time he collaborated with Ravi Shankar or that 1/3 of it was collaboration with Ravi Shankar?213.35.169.124 15:05, 4 August 2007 (UTC)
