[edit] Point of this list

Is there a point to this list, other than a yellow pages of companies, practically none of which are notable enough to have their own wiki page? --Escape Orbit (Talk) 18:03, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

Actually, make that none of which are notable enough to have their own wiki page? Wikipedia is not a directory. --Escape Orbit (Talk) 18:09, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
Surely some Tanzanian companies are notable? Notability is not defined by the existence of Wikipedia articles, especially considering the systematic bias the project has. -- zzuuzz (talk) 18:10, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
Of course, I wouldn't argue that none are. But if they are then they way to enter them into wikipedia is by creating a page of their own, and then listing them. Listing an entire page of red wikilinks (or external links) is not the way to do it. --Escape Orbit (Talk) 18:15, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
Redlinks are an established method of encouraging articles (WP:BTW and all that}. Who would type something like Tanzania China Friendship Textile Company into the address bar when they could just click on a redlink with it all spelled out and even a brief description beside it. That said, this list could do with a massive cleanup. -- zzuuzz (talk) 18:23, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
