[edit] Equal status?
Regarding Huaiwei's comment in the edit summary: [1], in what way did the edit (not) imply they're of equal status? What about events like this [2], or agreements like this [3]? Do they imply anything? (And if they do, then what do they imply?) — Instantnood 18:27, 4 January 2006 (UTC)
- So you ARE implying the three are of equal status?--Huaiwei 16:11, 8 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Guangzhou??
I was looking at some China articles and noticed that Guangzhou (GZ) has a population of 9.94 million. Why isn't it on this list? At first I thought maybe it was considered part of Hong Kong or something but this list only has 6.9 million for HK. I suspect this list is grossly inaccurate. There should be a census date or something. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.216.184.48 (talk • contribs) 17:56, February 25, 2006 (UTC).
- A difficult thing to deal with is that administrative divisions that are designated cities according the PRC's hierarchy (no matter municipality, prefecture-level city or county-level city) usually cover rural areas with little or no urban development. — Instantnood 19:04, 28 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Red link
A red link was resulted from the edit by an anonymous editor [4]. I reverted her/his edit, together with user:Alanmak's. I've reverted myself since I'm banned from editing this page. Would anybody please help fix the red link? Thanks in advance. — Instantnood 19:04, 28 February 2006 (UTC)
- Done. The former link was also to a redirect, so I linked directly to the article. SchmuckyTheCat 19:20, 28 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Cities in CHINA
How ambiguous is it whether a city is Chinese? Seriously tho, where do I find a list of historically significant cities? Maybe add a link to this disambiguation article too. --1698 10:38, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Singapore?
I am a little surprised to see Singapore appearing in this list. What is the definition of a Chinese city in this case?--Huaiwei (talk) 04:18, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
I want to ask this question too! Seriously, as a Chinese, I'm extremely embarrassed for the appearing of a foreign country on this list. We have plenty of cities, and this is so unfair to both Chinese and Singaporean! I'm going to delete this row, I'm sorry. I'll put the wiki-code here, in case after someone giving a strict definition of what a "Chinese City" is, you may put the same info back again.
| 14 | 新加坡 | Xīnjiāpō | Singapore | 4,680,600 | | First colonized by the British East India Company in 1819 as a strategic trading outpost along the spice route. In 1951, Singapore became an independent city-state. 75% of the population is of Chinese decent, most of 3rd generation. The official languages are English, Mandarin, Malay and Tamil. English has been promoted as the country's language of administration since independence. |- --Baoyiyang (talk) 02:54, 11 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Taipei-Keelung Metro vs. Taipei City
This seems weird but how can the Taipei have more people than the whole metro?
- Taipei-Keelung - 6,750,000
- Taipei - 7,728,300
or does it also include Taipei county or something?
