[edit] title of this article should rather be List of bus transport companies
Dear Wikipedians, I think the title of this article should rather be List of bus transport companies or so. The actual list is somewhat misleading: e.g. Ikarus is listed in Hungary - but Ikarus used to be a bus manufacturer and did not operated buses. In Hungary the biggest bus company had been Volán, now privatised and the actual companies use different names reflecting their regional interest such as Heves Volán, Tisza Volán. I hope you will accept my remarks.

[edit] New stub mark
If possible, could all bus-related articles using {{sectstub}} have it changes to {{bus-section-stub}}?--sonicKAI 13:31, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Direction of this article
As much as I'm a transport fan of all modes (Bus, Train, etc), this would look like a prod candidate considering the many companies in the world which would most likely make it hard to maintain and I was considering prodding it myself. But before going any further, I'd have to ask to the regular contributors of this article, what is the point of this article? Wouldn't categories be a better fit for bus transit companies world wide? (maybe even split by continent, into a master category). --Arnzy (talk • contribs) 23:59, 25 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Bullocks
Seem to now call themselves simply Bullocks Coaches. -- RHaworth 17:06, 16 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Ex-Bus operators
Does anyone know of an article of a list of old bus operators? -- Arriva436 18:32, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] List of bus operators in the UK
Someone recently got rid of the companies in the list that were owend by larger groups, such as Southern Vectis, owned by Go-Ahead. I don't think this is a very good idea because these companies have totally different trading names to their parent company. Also, if someone with little knowlege of buses got to this page and were looking for Southern Vectis to find out more information, they are not likely to click on Go-Ahead, and happen to scroll down the page and there find Southern Vectis. But obviously listing companies as "Arriva North East", "Arriva North West & Wales" is stupid.
Someone also recently added a load of bus companies who don't exist, one who sold out to First last year, and "Enviro buses", Enviros are a type of bus, not an operator. This needs to be made clearer. -- Arriva 436 18:50, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Redlinks
Oh well, it was obviously a pointless exercise trying to stop this article becoming a wishlist of absolute crap. I only hope the redlink lovers like creating articles, although as I actually suspect, they don't and never will. MickMacNee (talk) 18:47, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
