Talk:List of airlines in Alaska/archive1

== What are the criteria for inclusion in this list? ==
Are we looking for major airlines, such as Era or Horizon, or is the intent to include every air taxi, air charter, flightsee outfit, bear viewing trip, etc in the state? As it is the list has a little of all these, but there are probably at least a thousand separate air carriers over the whole state, since practically every little town has an airport and one or two local air taxis. Without criteria for inclusion, this list is doomed never to be encyclopedic, and it will probably become unimaginably long and cumbersome. Beeblbrox (talk) 20:32, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
- Also, if the idea is to list them all, they should probably be arranged geographically, that is a section for each airport with a list of airlines using that airport as their hub or base, as opposed to the alphabetical directory-style listing it is now. Beeblbrox (talk) 20:38, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
what now?
Ok, the list survived AfD, so we are back to square one. What, for purposes of this list, is the definition of an "airline". Should each airline have its own section or should the list be sectioned geographically or by type of carrier? Thoughts? Beeblbrox (talk) 18:36, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
- This is what is wrong with AfD. Where are all the "keep" voters who sooo wanted this list to be kept and improved? Since consensus was against deletion, we are obligated to try and fix this thing, but if nobody chimes in, I'm going back to AfD per WP:SILENCE. Beeblbrox (talk) 19:59, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
- Hi, WP:ARS is narrowly defined to improve articles that are currently considered for deletion. As such {{rescue}} is directly tied to an AfD. WP:ICU has a broader scope and as such is perhaps appropriate. Taemyr (talk) 10:12, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
