[edit] Allow article-less links?

I'm inclined to go through and remove all the "red" entries here that don't actually link to an article. Is it WP policy (or even convention) to allow such links to exist in a list like this one? It seems like it would be a good idea to enforce a rule that an article must be linked to in order to justify the notability of the individual in question. I have taken the (perhaps) bold step of removing the article-less names. Several of them I recognize as the names of notable people who deserve to have an article, but until such time as someone writes an article, they should not be listed here. If you're thinking of remedying this situation for your favorite sensei, please take the time and effort to write a proper article that shows the person's notability.
