[edit] D.D. Article

Why have you deleted the page I did called Different Dimension? It took ages.

Aenea 20:07, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

I did not delete it, it's now a redirect. It was discussed and agreed to merge all the card articles together. If you want the D.D. cards to be added back, discuss it here. Drake Clawfang 20:44, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

Well can we add it the bit called series of cards? I think you have to agree it's a big series/theme that had a big impact in the TCG. 88.105.138.4 12:26, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

I noticed this theme has not been added yet. I use a D.D. deck myself and would like to see it included. (Tails512 04:05, 20 June 2007 (UTC))

[edit] OCG/TCG Histoty

Why is this entirely about the anime and manga history of the cards? Why can't their impact on the OCG and TCG be mentioned?

Deltaneos Talk 12:32, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

Well that's something AMIB brought up. But he's still hell-bent on us needing sources, so...talk to him. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Drake Clawfang (talkcontribs) 13:37, 22 January 2007 (UTC).

[edit] Notable Sets

I think we should also include a separate section for notable card sets. Three that come to mind are the Elemental Heroes, Neo Spacians, and D-Heroes, as all played a major role in GX (the Neo Spacians especially had a developed background). The Gem creatures might also deserve one. Thoughts? Xuanwu 06:57, 2 February 2007 (UTC)

That was a Set section when the page was first created, but it waa removed, and is now reinstated. Drake Clawfang 16:42, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Black Luster Soldier

What about the Black Luster Soldier? --Bushido Brown 21:06, 17 February 2007 (UTC)

  • No. Can we remove this section? The card had no significant role in the anime, nor has it ever been playable in the OCG or TCG apart from its chaos counterpart, which is covered in the chaos section. Deltaneos 14:02, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

i think black luster soldier is quite significant because Yami sometimes is him and hes part of dragon master knight a card symbolic of teamwork as only when Kaiba and Yami work together can it be summoned. In Millennium World Dragon master knight is presented as being stonger the Exodia and the god cards against Zork only Horakhti is stonger —Preceding unsigned comment added by 222.155.173.215 (talk) 01:39, 3 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Game Guide

Are the game guides for the Cyberdark series and "The Flute of Summoning Kuriboh" necessary? Wasn't including game guides one of the main problems with the individual articles? Deltaneos 09:00, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

Perhaps, but the same Admin who removed them advised this page note real-life signifigance, and really, there's no way to do that WITHOUT the game guides, so....I'm confused on the issue myself. Drake Clawfang 16:41, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Arcana Force

  • Should this be listed? It doesn't exist in the card game. JuJube 09:47, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Is it true what the article says about these cards being released in the future? I haven't heard of this anywhere else. Deltaneos 19:20, 3 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Destiny Heroes

It says here that many of the Destiny Heroes are based on anti-heroes from English literature. But are there examples other than Double Dude? Deltaneos 17:03, 31 March 2007 (UTC)

  • Well, there's Clocktower Prison, as well as Dreadmaster who looks like the Hunchback of Notre Dame, or maybe the Man in the Iron Mask. And there's Bloo-D, and blue blood, which denotes nobility. Drake Clawfang 18:02, 31 March 2007 (UTC)
    • Cool, thanks! Deltaneos 18:33, 31 March 2007 (UTC)

this brings up a valid point, i think a new page should be made for just cards in yu-gi-oh! that represent certain things, the rest of the list of e-heroes and d-heroes can be listed, cards in history, i.e. fenrir, can be added in and would suffice curiosity. also in the e-heroes section it states that burstinatrix is based on sunpyre, but she also looks like wonder woman. 63.3.12.129 (talk · contribs) 02:36, 10 April 2007

[edit] In-universe

  • I'm noticing this article is slipping into in-universe speak a lot, using terms such as "Burn deck", "discard effect" and such. Could this be corrected? JuJube 19:13, 23 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Vehicroids

Should these be included? They are the signature cards of a main character, but have had no other notable role in the anime, manga, TCG or OCG. Deltaneos 13:23, 1 May 2007 (UTC)

  • Well, the same is true for the Elemental Heroes, Ojama Trio and Crystal Beasts. ^_^ I dunno, really... JuJube 21:19, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
    • Those examples have had affects on the plot. As far as I know, Vehicroids have only appeared in Syrus' duels. Deltaneos 13:05, 2 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Pictures

Why do the pictures keep changing?--Tempest115 19:29, 8 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Dmgirlyugioh.jpg

Image:Dmgirlyugioh.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 01:43, 3 June 2007 (UTC)

Done--Tempest115 20:13, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Non-Notable Cards

Only descriptions of the most notable cards are included. Shouldn't seperate pages for each card be made? (Tails512 03:58, 20 June 2007 (UTC))

[edit] Chaos strategy page?

Hi, by reading the chaos section it seemed to me (my english) this was a strategy manual. Remebers my old times instead of something a little bit more encyclopedic --Andersmusician $ 15:34, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Summoned Skull

Perhaps Summoned Skull should be added to the list, considering its various appeareances throughout the show, and its great power as a card.

Conisdering its commonation with Red Eyes, I say yes, it should be added.Wild ste 20:27, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
The card is only mildly important in the anime and totally unused in the TCG. It's not vital to the article as a whole.

[edit] Gate Guardian, Valkyrion...

Gate Guardian is, in my opinion, a very notable card, considering it takes three sacrifices, of Sanga of the Thunder, Suijin, and Kazejin. Could someone please add this card to the list?

As well, Valkyrion the Magna Warrior should be in the list, considering having an attack/ defense of 3500/3850, and becuase it can only be summoned by sacrificing Alpha, Beta and Gamma the magnet warriors.

Could someone pls add these 2 to the list?

  • No they have no major role in the anime or manga and never were playable in the TCG or OCG. Deltaneos 16:37, 3 July 2007 (UTC)
Both the two above and summoned Skull are not as notable in the anime, nor in the Trading Card Game, because of low popularity. (ATK power is not a notability fact people)--Andersmusician VOTE 18:02, 3 July 2007 (UTC)
Agreed. Both are not entirely notable on their own. Now, if the Magnet Warriors became a highly-played decktype (stifles laughter), then that, coupled with their anime role, might warrant a spot. And Gate Guardian...no one is EVER going to make that deck work. The Clawed One 02:05, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] title change

Because notability is implied in wikipedia. All listed Yu-Gi-Oh! cards should be notable, and specifying it seems redundant.--Cerejota 02:01, 19 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Toon Monsters

I know these cards didn't have much effect on the TCG, but they were important in the anime. Should they be included? (Relinquished also) (Tails512 23:39, 24 July 2007 (UTC))

I think these shouldn't since are not widely played in the TCG, maybe their mention could be appropriate in the YuGiOh! anime article.

[edit] Burn Deck

A Burn section has just been added--Andersmusician VOTE 04:06, 1 August 2007 (UTC)

I removed it, the page lists themes prevalent in the metagame. Burn decks can encompass way too many cards to be listed here in an encyclopedic fashion. If you can provide sources, a Chain Burn section may be usable. Otherwise, no, it would be like listing Beatdown and OTK as sections. The Clawed One 21:27, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
No I didn't add that section, but I'll make some research on understanding it. --Andersmusician VOTE 00:03, 10 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Red-eyed racism?

Isn't the name red-eyes black dragon kind of racist? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ickythump11 (talk • contribs) 14:51, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

No. JuJube 15:21, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

This doesn't really have anything to do with the article, but if you want my opinion, I don't think it sounds racist at all. User:Darkdemon90 21:57, 22 November 2007 (UTC) ROFL!!!!1 How can it be racist? The dragon is black. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.153.97.239 (talk) 02:16, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

Racism is irrelevant; it has nothing to do with Yu-Gi-Oh!. 18:33, 30 January 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dragon 280 (talkcontribs)

[edit] I've edited the Chaos page

Before it had some grammar problems and in my opinion, didn't give enough information about the cards. If you think I need sources for the way I edited it, let me know. User:Darkdemon90 17:37, 22 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Elemental Heroes

I have eliminated the comparisons of Elemental Hero characters to actual, established characters from other companies. First, this is all very iffy, legal wise. Plagirism is not a laughing matter. Second, Sunprye? Why would Yugioh copy Sunprye? Nobody knows who this DEAD character is! If someone wants to re-insert the information with cites, I won't fight it. Lots42 (talk) 00:05, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Clean Up

The page is pretty long and getting crufty, I think we should review some potential options for cleanup.

- Shrink down Blue-Eyes, Exodia and Red-Eyes sections, all anime notable but none of them are metagame notable
- Merge DM and DMG sections into dual-titled section like Cyber Dragon/Cyberdark Dragon
- Removal of Kuriboh, notable within the anime but not in an encyclopedia, also it's no longer played in the metagame
- Removal of Arcana Force, not notable to the metagame and limited anime notability
- Shrink down the Chaos section. Highly notable, but a tad long and getting a bit too in-depth over Chaos strategies
- Crystal Beasts are a playable deck type in the metagame and have anime notability, but the section needs more sources
- Removal of Dark World, see Arcana Force, DW is no longer heavily played in the metagame.
- Destiny Heroes are good, but needs some rephrasing in sections. For example, some stuff like "Magical Stone Excavation was limited down to one, DDT and Destiny Heroes nearly disappeared of the face of the earth. Soon people discovered how powerful a deck would be..." has a bad tone and non-NPOV
- Find some sources over Elemental Heroes and their notability to the metagame.
- Gadgets need some sources, notable decktype but have no sourcing for them.
- Removal of Gladiator Beasts - not anime notable at all and unsourced, I think either remove them or find some sources of their playability in the metagame and shrink them down.
- Shrink down Neo-Spacians and find some sources.
- Ditto previous statement for Six Samurai

I'm not saying all this stuff is needed, but the article needs some cleanup. These are just some of my suggestions for this. The Clawed One (talk) 00:16, 3 February 2008 (UTC)

  • I dunno about Kuriboh not being played in the metagame. AFAIK it is commonly sidedecked to counter OTK decks. JuJube (talk) 00:31, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
    • AFAIK? The Clawed One (talk) 01:34, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
      • As far as I know. JuJube (talk) 01:37, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
        • Ah. Ok. What about the other options though? The Clawed One (talk) 01:41, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
          • Sounds fine to me mostly. Gladials are played semi-frequently, I believe, and Exodia decks still see play, but everything else sounds good. JuJube (talk) 01:44, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
            • Check. The main problem is sources. It happened gradually, a sentence from an anon here, another here, and suddenly bam, you have entire sections and paragraphs without a single source. I'm sure there are sources showing the impact Crystal Beasts have on the game, but they don't have any here.

Also, I'm gonng dig up some sources and add Light and Darkness Dragon, because that's become a very big card. The Clawed One (talk) 01:58, 3 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] New Link checkout

I added a new link. The link is called Chaos Deck in the Chaos section. Please check the Chaos Deck article, it is my first article and I want to make sure it is well done. And how do you add a picture to a article. Thanks! --RyRy5 (talk) 05:18, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

  • Those kinds of articles are frowned upon in Wikipedia. You might want to check out the Yu-Gi-Oh Wikia, which already has an article about this deck, I believe. JuJube (talk) 05:34, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
