[edit] Redirects

Please note that as of March 14, 2006 I have turned about half of the articles in this category into redirs to whatever game or novel those characters feature in. Those that appear in more than one game/novel/etc have been retained as individual articles. This is part of a massive campaign of reorganization that I, Peidu and Bob McDob are undertaking. It is our opinion that large articles on each game, novel, movie, etc are preferable to small articles on individual planes, characters, etc, and that is what we have created. Please do not revert these alterations. Marblespire 23:15, 14 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Paulsen

Paulson was a ruthless military commander? The Wing Commander IV novel makes it clear that Paulson was essentially a desk jockey who bought his field posting. Douglasnicol (talk) 16:31, 11 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Admiral Banbridge

Which Banbridge is which?: Deleted - Dr. Forstchen has repeatedly explained that the change in name between Action Stations and Fleet Action was an accident rather than some half-hearted attempt at creating a second character with the same (last) name, backstory and characteristics. Further, the only legitimate comment in this unusually long comment was the issue of the name. The second point, that the character who is "at least, in his 40s" would "have either long retired or dead[six] from stress" thirty years later is a bizarre claim given the context of the stories (a generation-spanning galactic war which, among other things, the man in question is in charge of). The third claim is just plain wrong: Banbridge is referred to time and time again in the 'set later' novels as being in charge of the navy's war effort. LOAF 03:17, 15 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Geoffrey Tolwyn

One thing that is missing here is Tolwyn's activities between the end of the Kilrathi War and the beginning of his major operations in the Black Lance program as shown in Wing Commander IV. The Wing Commander book False Colors shows a brief time that he was seconded to the Landreich to recover the hulk of the Kilrathi carrier Karga for the Landreich navy. Image:Tolwyn04.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
