[edit] Creation

This page was created to alievate the ever-growing length of the University of Waterloo page, due to the enormity (and arbitrary addition of names) of this section. JamieJones talk 23:30, 7 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Sections

I've attempted to sort this page based on the field in which the person is famous. --Jdeboer 19:07, 11 March 2006 (UTC)

I like it, but we should sort them all. I'll try. JamieJones talk 12:31, 18 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Verification

This page is getting large and hard to verify. I think we need to post supporting criteria for each person, like a footnote for each, as per the policy on verfiability. I'll look some up eventually, but if it's not done, I think I'll start removing unverifiable names from the list. JamieJones talk 14:16, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

But I'm not sure how to verify they were waterloo grads. Ideas?

[edit] Feature list?

I have to oppose this right now, because there are non-notable people on the list. The one that comes to mind is Erik Demaine. Once the non-notables are cleaned up, it should be good to go. GreenJoe 03:47, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

  • I disagree Find sources: Erik Demainenews, books, scholar. DoubleBlue (Talk) 05:03, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
    • I also disagree. Plus, I made this list in order to list as many people as I could find that had an article on Wikipedia and had some relation to UW, so notability is not a question that should be raised here. If you are concerned about the person's notability, then it is better to bring it up on that article with WP:CSD, WP:AFD, or WP:PROD. Gary King (talk) 06:01, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
