[edit] Slogans vs Random Words.

Here is what I think of all of the things on the page: Actual Slogans:

   * 1970: "The Seven Revolution" (Sydney/Melbourne only) (borrowed from NBC's "The NBC Revolution")
   * 1976-79: "The Colour Machine" (aka "Who Colours Your World?")
   * 1977: "Lucky Seven" (Sydney/Melbourne only) (used only briefly on HSV-7)
   * 1977 (Nov.): "21 Years of Television" (Sydney/Melbourne only)
   * 1979-82: "All The Best" (Sydney/Adelaide only) (borrowed from NBC's 1976-1978 slogan)
   * 1983: "Just Watch Us Now!" (Sydney/Brisbane only) (based on NBC's promo slogan "We're NBC, Just Watch Us Now")
   * 1983-84: "Be There" (Sydney/Melbourne only) (again, based on NBC's slogan that marked NBC's rise in the 80s)
   * 1986: "Say Hello!" (Sydney/Melbourne/Perth only) (also used by TasTV)
   * 1988: "Let's Celebrate '88" (borrowed elements from "Come Home to NBC")
   * 1989: "Only the Best on 7" (borrowed from NBC's "Come Home to the Best, Only on NBC")
   * 1990: "The Place to Be" (once again, from NBC)
   * 1996 (Sept.): "40 Years of Television"
   * 1997-98: "Everyone's Home"
   * 2003 (Sept-Nov): "Lucky Seven"
 * 1975: "Seven Colours Your World" (September-December 1975)
   * 1980: "You're on Seven" (borrowed elements from NBC's "NB-See Us")
  • 1983-87: "Love You Brisbane"
* 1985: "Adelaide is Seven"
   * 1983: "You Can See It All on 7"
   * 1984: "We're With You on 7" (based on ABC's "We're With You on ABC")
   * 1985-88: "Love You Perth"
   * 1987: "The Heat is On" (based on "The Heat is On") (wtf?)

Random Words:

   * 1987: "Sail On" (Sydney/Perth only)
   * 1991: "In the Mood"/"Yeah!"
   * 1992: "Good Vibrations"
   * 1993: "Handmade Television"
   * 1993-94: "It Has To Be"
   * 1995-96: "Discover It All"
   * Summer 2003/04: "Brand Spankin' New Summer"
   * 2004 (Feb-Nov): "7 NOW" (based on FOX's 2002 slogan "FOX NOW") (I don't remember this being used at all)
   * Summer 2004/05: "7 Summer" (based on "Summer of Love" by Black Cab)
   * 2006 (Aug-Sept): "TV Turns 50"
   * 1960: "You're on Seven. This is Herald-Sun TV." (HSV-7)
   * 1971-72: "Looking Good"
   * 1972-73: "Something Special"
   * 1973-74: TBA
   * 1974-75 (Oct. 19-Feb. 28): "Revolving 7" (Color Test ID)
   * 1975: "SSSSSSS Seven Color Television" (March 1-August 31, 1975)
   * 1982: "Take a Bow"
   * 1968: "Seven is..."
   * 1975: "Welcome to the Bright New World of Seven" (Taken from the similarly named ABC (US) slogan)
   * Summer 1977/78: "Summer Fever"
   * 1979: "Seven's Reaching for the Stars"
   * 1980: "Channel 7's Proud in Sydney" (borrowed elements from NBC's "Proud as a Peacock")
   * 1982: "Our Pride is Showing" (based on NBC's similarly named promo slogan)
   * 1986: "Sydney CBD"
   * 1986 (Nov.): "Thirty Years Together - Channel 7 and You"
   * Summer 1986/87: "Summer is the Time" (borrowed elements from ABC's "Now is the Time, ABC is the Place")
   * 1987: "You're Invited on a Journey"
   * 1960's: "You're in Tune When You're Tuned to Seven"

To be condensed:

   * 1999: "The One to Watch" (based on "Every Breath You Take" by The Police)
   * 2000: "The One to Watch"
   * 2000-Early 2002: "The One to Watch" (based on "Dreams" by The Cranberries)
   * Early 2002-July 5, 2003: "The One to Watch"
   * 2003 (July 6-Aug. 31): "See Things Differently" (based on "Point of View" by DB Boulevard)

Should be 1999-August 31, 2003: "The One To Watch" (Although they did use "Point of View" without "The One to Watch" but there was NO slogan to replace it. Therefore leave a gap, don't put "Point of View".

   * 2005: "GOTTA LOVE IT" (based on "I Think I Love You" by David Cassidy)
   * Summer 2005/06: "Gotta Love It - Summer"
   * 2006 (Feb. 11-Dec. 5): "Thanks For Watching..."
   * Summer 2006/07: "Gotta Love Summer" (based on "Amor" by Gipsy Kings)

These were all "GOTTALOVEIT".

   * 1985: "The World on Seven - Let's All Be There" (based off NBCs slogan "On NBC, Let's All Be There")
   * 1985-87: "Let's All Be There" (borrowed from NBC slogan, even though NBC changed slogans in '86)

Obvious.

For the random words replace them with the real slogan or completely remove

Go ahead and make the changes then. Eddie Blake 15 January 2007 (UTC)

I just want someone to check through there first to see if any of the random words were actually just really bad slogans or vice versa Whitehornmatt 00:38, 16 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] References

Rather than slap an unreferenced template on the article, I will start here at the talk page. Regadless of the number of delete !votes, User:Gnangarra took the view that User:Jayvdb had provided sufficient secondary sources for the article to be kept. Fair enough.

But those five references need to find their way into the relevant segments of this article and be expanded, or else starting from the lead sentence - with the unreferenced claim of links between Seven and NBC - and working down through the list of non-slogans listed just above me, unreferenced material will be progressively removed.

I wouldn't bother trying to remove the non slogans, I did and they have pretty much all been brought back, and someone would probably just revert it if I tried again. --Whitehornmatt 10:33, 1 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Spelling

Colour is spelt with the u in Australia. Please do NOT change the spelling in the future. --DandanxD 11:21, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
