That's my question. Why the Samurai Shodown character profiles have to merge here? Basara-kun 19:28, 15 April 2007 (UTC)
- They take up the space of a list entry. Their current content warrants nothing more than that. I'm sure a few of the more important characters could be brought back eventually, but there's no reason at this point. Nemu 19:35, 15 April 2007 (UTC)
OK, all of the characters are merged here. Before any pages are brought back, the section here should be well sourced and actually need a page. I would suggest that instead of trying to bring the pages back, people should try to get this featured (use Characters of Final Fantasy VIII as an example). Nemu 20:58, 16 April 2007 (UTC)
- OK, I understand. I don't still like the idea, but if you want to make like FFVIII characters articles, I'll support that. I hope in the future, important characters like Haohmaru or Nakoruru will have their own articles again. Until then, I'll aport with this article. Basara-kun 03:10, 17 April 2007 (UTC)

Well, here are the list of characters it rests in the series, if someone of you can put their profiles here to improve this list:

Considering Cardfighters DS isn't canon, it's likely a mistranslation. There's no possibility Shiki is of a mixed gender (especially if one has seen her production art/read the design notes), so that's something that ought to be removed. Feralknights 23:39, 2 June 2007 (UTC)

- How exactly is someone supposed to build a comprehensive section from a bunch of plot summaries and trivial descriptions of the characters, which may not even be that valid? These articles are often just filled with pure OR, and all I did was trim them down a little for the merger (I didn't do any fact checking). If there even is a way to describe the story of the overall series, it would be much more productive for someone to start from scratch. There is just nothing to utilize here, plus there is nobody willing to do it. Is it really worth waiting the eternity for someone interested? (Please don't try to bring up the crystal ball thing. I'm sure that it is obvious to most people that nobody cares about this series in an encyclopedic view.). TTN 17:55, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Different Organization in order?
I find the current layout to be really cluttered and a little hard to follow. Wouldn't it be easier to organize characters based on their first fighting/boss appearance in a game? That way, Rera could still be in the SSV rooster -though she'd technically be in the solo Nakoruru game. Also, reoccurring characters would only have to appear once underneath their first game. It'd be really redundant to see Haohmaru underneath every title.
Every game has a new set of characters so it's applicable for all games -even the RPG, Nako ADV, and mobile games. Special case character appearances -where they appear in one but are playable first in another- can be explained by simple explanations in parenthesis. Exclusive characters to that title can be listed underneath as unique (Tokihime is not playable in the SSRPG but she does appear and play a role in it).
So for example:
- Samurai Shodown (Samurai Spirits サムライスピリッツシリーズ)
- Haohmaru
- Stats: according to official website -though it's not necessary-
- Game Apperances: SS1, SS2, SS3, SS4, SSRPG, SSV, SSV Special SS64, SSWR, SSWR (PS), -and on and on it goes-
- Bio: copy and paste from current article with possible expanding
- Ukyo Tachibana
- Stats: according to official website -though it's not necessary-

By doing it like this, it'll better establish who was playable as a fighter in which game for all users interested in picking up with the series. That way, they won't be disappointed if "this person" isn't in "this game". It'll also help better fill in any gaps -and there are many- that need fixing. Sound like a plan, wiki? [edit] This article sucks.
Sad, but true. After actually looking at it I can see why TTN is so intent on deleting it. I modified a couple of the character descriptions at the top of the list a bit, try to follow my example. Here are some PROTIPS:
- Stop using present-tense. Cham Cham is not currently stealing that stone thing.
- Out of universe-style, use it. Refer to characters as "The character ___" or something similar.
- Add information on how the characters play, what they use as weapons, what games they're included in, etc if possbile. For all the characters. This article shouldn't just be about the characters' backstories. Also, add more VAs and which one played the character in each game.
- Don't use words like "recently" when describing a character's backstory. Specifify what game in the series that event occured in.
- Cut out any useless characters like random minions and sub-bosses who don't play a large role in the individual game or series.
I don't know anything about this series, so I'll leave this to MissingNOOOO and other users who can edit this article better than I can. - The Norse 06:53, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
