[edit] Problem with hoax additions to the list
A hidden note near the top of this page (which I added soon after creating it) says "If names are added without a verifiable reference, they may be challenged and removed unless a sound reference is provided" In my view, that is fair and in keeping with the quite small scale of the problem. If a name is clearly fictitious, then of course we can remove it straight away. However, if it is merely doubtful, then the correct procedure is to challenge it with the {{fact}} tag, thus fathoming whether a reliable source can be provided or not. To say in the hidden note instead "WITHOUT A REFERENCE THE NAME WILL BE REMOVED IMMEDIATELY" seems to me to suggest that one editor has more authority than another to control the content of the page arbitrarily.
