The deep blue articles says nothing of deep blue being part of a flight booking thing, is QI wrong?

The article says that Davies was not present for this episode and was replaced by a body double for the opening wide shot of the studio, but what about the shot where he pressed his buzzer and disappeared? Was this a "buzzer shot" dropped in from another episode and doctored? Or did he come to the studio just to film that one shot, and if so why would it be necessary to replace him with a double in the wide shot when they could have just done both at the same time......?
