[edit] Gotta catch A Man In Black

I totally rewrote this article, including deleting a ton of obvious or sub-encyclopedic stuff and merging multiple articles. If you feel the need to revert, please don't do a revert to a previous version; instead, take the time to restore the part(s) of the article that you feel the need to restore. - A Man In Black (Talk | Contribs) 02:39, 14 August 2005 (UTC)

A link I've been using to add info to this page: [1] - A Man In Black (Talk | Contribs) 20:13, 11 September 2005 (UTC)

I've gone ahead and inserted it as a reference and fixed myself dinner. I'm bloody starving. -ZeroTalk 22:09, 13 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Clean-up and references tags

I've removed these misleading and unnecessary tags. This article's thesis, summaries, and information accuracy is right on the money. For references, one only needs to go as far as Gamefaqs or the like. This article, while not as perfect as List of Mega Man weapons, is suitable enough to warrant an minimum standard of competency. -ZeroTalk 21:55, 13 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Organization

I'm curious as to why the items are in the order that they're currently listed in. Are they even in any specific order? I'd probably break the article into sections, and have the items become subsections. I'd put the battle items together, and have the Dex and other handheld organizers together, and maybe put other items into another section. And wouldn't it be nice to put the Poké Ball at the top of the list? It's a very important and symbolic item. --Brandon Dilbeck 16:44, 23 September 2006 (UTC)

i agree and have contemplating this for a while. it's just it would be kind of a pain, and i haven't gotten around to it. there is no organization whatsoever so feel free, but i would caution you about adding more hierarchy as oftentimes pages can end up with very long TOCs and any links that went directly to a specific entry would need to be updated with "What links here." happy editing! -Zappernapper 16:33, 24 September 2006 (UTC)

I don't see any reason alphabetical order doesn't serve this page just fine. - A Man In Bl♟ck (conspire | past ops) 20:38, 24 September 2006 (UTC)

well currently it is only mostly in alphabetical order. Elixers follows Potions and Hidden Machines follows Technical Machines. Poketchi is after Zero-One. However, it's true that most of these were later additions (i, personally, added Elixers in preparation of removing the orignal PP page), and that's the most probable reason they don't follow the current scheme. While alphabetizing serves a good role for those seeking a particular item, it can be disjointing for those who are reading the article as a whole - often swtiching back and forth between concepts (i.e. TMs and HMs, or Potions and Elixers). Categorizing seems the ideal solution (Pokegear, Pokenav, Poketchi should really all be grouped together somehow anyways) but it would break links that go directly to those headings (unless of course we add invisible tags) so the work has been left up to someone wanting to do it. In short, it would be nice if i could just look at all the "Healing items" rather than having to scroll past numerous "PokeFoo" -Zappernapper 20:49, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

Some of these entries need to be condensed, and the list certainly needs to be rearrranged at least into alphabetical order. I'll see what I can do, without breaking existing links. - A Man In Bl♟ck (conspire | past ops) 22:45, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Other flutes

I don't have XD so i don't know if the colored flutes are obtainable there. The sentence:

In Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness, the flutes are also used in a similar way as in other games (for example the yellow flute cures confusion).

needs to be removed because it could be written more succinctly by mentioning XD in the first sentence among the list of games they have appeared in, or if the flutes are not obtainable in XD the sentence should be rm without another thought because the fact that you can trade items to the various games is not anything that needs to be mentioned specifically in the "Other Flutes" section. -Zappernapper 14:51, 10 October 2006 (UTC)

I don't know firsthand whether the colored flutes are available in Pokémon XD, but I'm positive that they can be transferred to it from the GBA games if they're given to traded Pokémon. --Brandon Dilbeck 15:46, 10 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Japanese names

I'm not quite so sure why it's good to have the Japanese names for items in this article (sure, I guess the games are made in Japan...), but I'm also not sure of why there are Japanese names for only some of the items. Do the rest not have Japanese names? I'm thinking of consistency here. --Brandon Dilbeck 00:09, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

The ones not there are the ones I don't know. o.o;—ウルタプ 00:55, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Listcruft

Seriously, does this page have to list every single healing item in the game? With permission, will remove game-guide lists. SubStandardDeviation 05:16, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

well, even though it's not considered policy to have to ask for permission, since no one said they agreed with you, i don't understand why you just went ahead and did it neways. In defense of the lists, i honestly don't see anything wrong with listing all the vitamins, or all the potions (i however do agree that we don't really need to delve into things like Ragecandybar or Lava cookies). These are short, informative lists that would be expected to be found underneath a section entitled "Pokemon vitamins." I've restored most of them, but kept many of your other changes. -ΖαππερΝαππερ BabelAlexandria 22:24, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Pronunciation of Pokétch

Although it seems very simple there has been many questions throughout the internet on how to pronounce Pokétch. Some think it is (Pokee-tech), others think its "Poke( as in jab)-etch". If someone could find a valuable source of the True pronunciation and possibly post it in the article, that would be Great. JDBlimegreen 02:09, 4 May 2007 (UTC)

pronunciations are usually determined by the anime. so when an episode airs that mentions it we can use that as the offical one. -ΖαππερΝαππερ BabelAlexandria 17:25, 5 May 2007 (UTC)
It should be, based on the Japanese and the spelling, "poh-kech".—Loveはドコ? (talkcontribs) 17:53, 5 May 2007 (UTC)
This Helps Greatly. Now that i am thinking about it, "Poh-kech" Sounds most reasonable of the Variations that i've heard. But Nevertheless, if we choose we can wait untill the Anime Reveals the True prononciation, though i think you have hit it sqaure on. JDBlimegreen 02:58, 10 May 2007 (UTC)
The president guy in the game said that the latter part of the name is from the word "watch" because it is worn like a watch. Justtoletyouknow... --Brandon Dilbeck 03:21, 10 May 2007 (UTC)

I would think that the pronunciation is poke-e-etch. --paner —Preceding unsigned comment added by Paner (talk • contribs) 06:51, 2 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] No strategy for articles?

This article seems more like strategy guide to me than an encyclopedia article. That's not what Wikipedia is supposed to be. I recommend re-writing this article to make it more of Wikipedia's standards. --Kevin 20 5 23 26 01:58, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

Could you be more specific, or perhaps provide an example? I think a lot of effort's been undertaken to ensure that this isn't a player's guide. --Brandon Dilbeck 03:50, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Pokeradar

Should Pokéradar be added, and if so, in what section. I'm asking because it's referenced in Shiny Pokémon, and I thought linking it here would be helpful. But it wouldn't until it's written in, would it?Spriteless 14:01, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
