[edit] some references

  • Bulacan came from "Bulak" [1]
  • Misamis origin is obscure but probably came from "Kuyamis", a variety of coconut

[2]

  • Palawan came from the Chinese "palan yu" or beautiful harbor

[3]

  • general list of origins (not advisable as main source but would be useful for searching for terms.)

[edit] Older provinces and names

Do we include here names of old provinces or old names for provinces (like Quezon's Tayabas, Siquijor's Isla del Fuego, or Biliran's Isla de Panamao)? --seav (talk) 01:16, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

Hmm... perhaps we can make that as a smaller companion list? The tables aren't to big to accommodate that amount of data--Lenticel (talk) 13:29, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, that's a good solution, a minitable of sorts. --Howard the Duck 13:36, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Notes, References, Cites, etc.

Hi,

I just stumbled over this page. I've boldly made some changes in the citation style which I think will improve this article and ease its development. I've changed the {{Cite book}} templates to use {{Citation}} instead, moved the citations themselves to the References section (where they can be ordered in a way which is useful to the reader) and placed {{Harvnb}}s which link to the associated {{Citation}}s in the <Ref>s, introduced a Notes section and moved the {{Reflist}} there. This is in expectation that there will be instances where it is desired to separately cite several pages of a single book -- individual {{Harvnb}} instances can cite separately the relevant page(s), and all link to a single {{Citation}} giving info about the book. If I've been too bold here, feel free to revert my changes. Cheers. -- Boracay Bill (talk) 00:51, 26 January 2008 (UTC)

For some reason it doesn't work... --Howard the Duck 03:58, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
