[edit] Its a start
Creating a Penny Arcade List of Characters, as requested by Kasreyn in the Penny Arcade discussion section, please help me edit it and make it look decent.--Mighty Ozymandias 23:14, 30 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Zombie Roommate
If someone has the time, could they update the information on the Zombie Roommate? I only vaguely remember him, and I appreciated the fanservice of showing him in the parting shot of Jim, but I recall that either Tycho or Gabe blamed something on him, and got him kicked out, or something like that. --131.107.0.73 19:46, 30 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] BatJew?
Or was he a product of my fevered imaginings?
[edit] The other Mac User
He wasn't featured much, but I remember he had at least two comics. He was the guy in black with the beret. I think his name was like Raven.
And he's an elitist asshole.
[edit] Frank
I am terrible at Wikipedia. Its the astounding beurocracy. That said, I should ask if What I want to add is acceptable and wont be coated in four feet of red tape. Frank the store manager is also based loosely on I believe his name is Greig, manager of EB games at northgate mall in
[edit] Too many minor characters?
I'm not sure what it takes to qualify as at least a minor character, but some of the one-hit wonders over there don't seem to fit in very well. BatJew sounds like it may have been part of a string of e-mails, or based on some real-life person, but stuff like K-Real, who have only been used for a total of one gag where it was never even considered they would be seen again, seem to be a little much. - I agree, a lot of the characters in here appear once or up to three comics. Just because someone appears once and has a name doesn't mean their even a character worthy of mention in here. 216.191.40.149 00:30, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Annarchy
The article states that Tycho is not fond of her based on the Thanksgiving comic. I would argue that Tycho's extreme pessimism that day was due to his hatred for his brother (Ann's father), and not Ann herself. In fact, she shares Tycho's disgust. In all other strips I recall, Tycho treats Annarchy well.
The article also states that she is an accomplished linguist. Knowing several languages does not make someone a linguist - it makes them a polyglot. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 216.239.82.174 (talk) 12:53, August 21, 2007 (UTC)
Actually, if she played the Final Fantasy games in the original Japanese, I believe that might qualify her as a linguist. —Preceding unsigned comment added by SeraphSword (talk • contribs) 06:35, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Tycho's name
Why is he named after Tycho Brahe?? Brutannica 22:15, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] "Jack" (Tycho's origonal name)
Tycho was originally called "Jack". As seen be seen here: [1] However, the name was never used for him again. Is this of enough relevance to be put in the article?74.69.234.9 04:01, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
- I think that would be a better addition to the character bio on the main PA article. =) Panzer V Panther 08:11, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Supporting vs. Minor
What is the dividing line between Supporting Characters and Minor Characters here? I propose that we just merge them all together under the banner of Recurring Characters, with the criteria of any character that has appeared in multiple non-subsequent strips. I'd like to set the bar even higher, like 3 or 4 strips, but that seems arbitrary. Thoughts? -Chunky Rice 18:53, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] What about Khoo
He's been in at least as many strips as Pork. John Romero has too, by the way.--Ifrit 23:12, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] L.H. Franzibald - Tim Buckley
Someone keeps adding uncited claims that he is based off of Tim Buckley, of Ctrl-Alt-Del. I have scoured google to look for any hint of said claim. I found none. Sure, I admit that he looks like him, but if there is no source, then it should not even be considered.
- Holkins was pretty specific at PAX '07 when he stated that the Franzibald character was intended to represent Tim Buckley. 128.95.33.156 (talk) 15:17, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
- Find a source, and I'll be happy to look like a jackass. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.43.180.69 (talk) 02:02, 14 December 2007 (UTC)
- He definitely is meant to be Buckley, but there doesnt seem to be any reliable source, so no mention then. -kaneda —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.90.249.126 (talk) 02:06, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Gabe's Abilities
During the Jack Thompson episode, Tycho noted that Gabe has the ability to say just the right thing to piss somebody off. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.69.118.1 (talk) 04:24, 28 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Supporting characters
Why is our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ in that list? I haven't seen him in many of the comics. And if you're going to describe him as a supporting character, you'd better make sure he appears pretty damn frequently. Seriously though, is he really a supporting character? An occasional punchline, more like. Shinigami27 (talk) 01:12, 9 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Red eyes
About Tycho's red eyes: the article states that his eyes turn red when angry due to a "dark spectre from the world of dreams," but I've found a comic in which Gabe's eyes turn red due to anger.[2] Is the "dark spectre" just a one off thing, or are Gabe's eyes turning red an anomaly specific to this comic?
