[edit] Classic games

I removed the individual listing of the games from compilations such as The Legend of Zelda: Collector's Edition and Mega Man Anniversary Collection because there is no need for that information to be in this list. Furthermore, if we were to list all of the classic games in every GameCube game the list would be much less useful. For example, Midway Arcade Treasures has over 20 games. Intellivision Lives! has over 60. And then there's all the other titles that aren't compilations that have classic games, such as Animal Crossing. So unless someone can justify their being here, I don't think they belong here. --TheDotGamer Talk 00:38, Jun 8, 2005 (UTC)

The Legend of Zelda: Collector's Edition and Mega Man Anniversary Collection were actually sold for the GC. You can't just deny that they weren't games because they were individually sold games for the GC.Bovineboy2008 13:20, 16 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Quality indicator

I realise it's a bit POV, but might it be a worthwhile undertaking to somehow signal, say, the twenty most critically acclaimed games on the list? A decent guide would be www.metacritic.com or www.gamerankings.com. Foolish Mortal 19:48, 6 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] North America, Europe, Japan only games

I removed this kind of information from the list since I think it should be in the games' articles. Furthermore, it could only be useful to North Americans, since it didn't list NA only, NA/EU only or NA/JP only games. This is contrary to Wikipedia NPOV. See also List of PlayStation 2 games and List of Xbox games. Mushroom 15:51, 18 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] List of GC

You fools are all wondering why their are pictures in the list, and also for GC & PS2.

I did it, because it will make the list look better.

People will recoginze those games
Not just any picture, i added some noticable & popular games, for example Halo 2, but some people/wiki/vistors. Might want to put different pictures(that are not really popular, for example New Legend). And also no multiplatform game picture should be on, like Mortal Kombat, because if the picture is on there, then there should be a picture for GC & PS2 List.
All you have to do is...

  • Put a picture of a famous game list for either ps2, xbox or GC
    • For example, Halo 2, Ninja Gaiden, Devil May Cry, Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker
  • Delete multiplatform picture games,
    • accpet for special ones, for example Soul Calibure 2

That is all i ask

Thanks:P

What you ask is too much, sorry JayKeaton 16:44, 25 April 2006 (UTC)

Probably would be pushing fair use as well.--SeizureDog 17:50, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Game check

Using GameFAQs, someone please help me with checking to list if this list is complete and up to date. I have checked the following letters: 0ABCDEIQY.

  • Do NOT add canceled games. They go to List of cancelled video games.
  • Do NOT add TBA games unless they have an article. They are likely canceled otherwise.
  • Do NOT add European or Japanese titles if the North American title exists. For European titles, provide them with a <ref>European title</ref> after the North American title. Don't do this with Japanese titles as it will get very large very quickly.

I'd like to work on this and make it a Featured List. The Gamecube is winding down in terms of games so it's able to be rather stable. Once we get all of the games on here we need to work on making stubs for all of the red links. Chopchop people.--SeizureDog 18:11, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

Sounds good! I'll be able to help some with making stubs for the red links, got rid of some for A and B already. I'd also like to recommend using my CVG Infobox Maker to help creating them. --ADeveria 19:09, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
Took me a month to wonder back over here but I must say it's looking pretty good :) Nice sea of blue starts off the list right off the bat. I'll work at expanding it a bit more.--SeizureDog 00:53, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
If so, the list will need some sort of table system, pictures, and most importantly citations. No self-referencing afterall. 74.137.230.39 15:24, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
The European titles should be integrated back into the list, it took me a long time to find the article for Mario Smash Football not knowing the North American title. Having the list as it is is clearly biased towards Americans and therefore in violation of wikipedia policy. Take a look at List of Nintendo 64 games for an alternative. Timkovski 17:29, 28 September 2006 (UTC)
As no-one has objected in over a week, I shall integrate the European titles back into the list. Timkovski 22:18, 7 October 2006 (UTC)
As already mentioned, this article needs some work so I added the {{cleanup-list}} and {{listdev}} templates. I suggest looking at the List of Nintendo 64 games and List of Wii games for an idea on the layout this list should follow. Ceros 16:39, 26 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] incomplete?

What's incomplete about this list? 02:53, 7 November 2006 (UTC)

Good question, I've wondered this too. Of course it would be useful to compare it with several "as-complete-as-possible" lists and cite their references, just to be sure... --ADeveria 12:08, 7 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] bond

nightfire and from russia with love appear twice on this list. 69.244.101.216 13:00, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

Thanks, I have removed the duplicate entries. Mushroom (Talk) 06:18, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Tables are done

So they are. What next? FLC? --PresN 22:05, 7 February 2007 (UTC)

I guess that in List of Nintendo 64 games's FLC they complained about referencing the canceled games, so I suppose that should be done before FLC. --PresN 05:59, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Flags

I don't like them. Contrary to popular belief, North America != USA and Europe != European Union. Right now the list says no Gamecube games have ever been released in Canada or Norway. I propose removing the flags and splitting that column in three, one for each region (and name them JPN, NA, and EU for example). Then we can use something like instead of the flags. Davhorn 11:58, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

Disagree, and yes, this has been haggled over before. Most recently, it's been specifically discussed as to how it relates to this list. Please see the discussion and the comments from SeizureDog at:
Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Computer_and_video_games#Help_wanted:_List_of_GameCube_games
-- Slordak 14:53, 8 February 2007 (UTC)
I don't see how his comments makes Europe = European Union come true. It's still inexact and I don't see why would be any worse. Davhorn 16:01, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Merge from Chronological list of GameCube games

Please merge relevant content, if any, from Chronological list of GameCube games per Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Chronological list of GameCube games. (If there is nothing to merge, just leave it as a redirect.) Thanks. Quarl (talk) 2007-03-11 01:09Z

I suspect there's nothing to add; the list here was exhaustively scrubbed, so the only items which would be missing would be speculative or cancelled titles. There shouldn't be any actually released titles which are missing. -- Slordak 13:28, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] At least 1 title missing - Defender

Hi, congrats for list. There is at least 1 title missing though: Defender Published by Midway. I can assure you it exists, I have a gamecube copy. It has been released for certain in US and in Europe. I highly doubt it has been released in Japan, but am not certain. Some titles are hard to identify, as they had very little publicity or have been released to a very little amount of copies. What I would suggest is to go on gamespot and display full GC list. The trap is that they identify (rarely) some cancelled games while they have NOT been cancelled and while we find some actual copies on e-bay. I might do that and give a hand. Thanks 89.124.55.131 14:36, 25 May 2007 (UTC)THPOW

Similarly, does Virtua Striker 3 not exist for the GameCube? Think I saw it around somewhere?
  • edit1* it seems like I have 2 copies of Virtua Striker. Though they appear similar, the banner image is different: one says 'Virtua Striker 3 ver.2002', while the other just states 'Virtua Striker 2002'. I'm unable to check the games, but it would seem that Virtua Striker 3 was developed and at some point renamed to Virtua Striker 2002.
  • edit2* From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amusement_Vision : there apparently were 2 versions of the Virtua Striker game for GameCube, the latter of which seems to 'use a new technology (based on the advanced Nintendo GameCube specifications) and new data (new players, countries and improved controls)'.

[edit] "Mortal Kombat: Deception" and Europe

I think that Europe flag should be removed, as the game did NOT come out in Europe. It did indeed come out for PS2 and Xbox everywhere, but they only made a NTSC Version for Gamecube, meaning it's simply not playable on normal EU machines... therefore, no EU flag. Right?
