[edit] Merge suggested
I suggest merging List of Neon Genesis Evangelion media and Neon Genesis Evangelion Official Expanded Universe. They are both simply lists of media; the distinction between "official" and not can be made without having them on different pages. (And what makes some things more "official" than others anyway? How are the soundtracks, for instance, not official?) Furthermore, some of the info is redundant. --HKMARKS 03:21, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
- Done, and changed to redirect. Now removing links on other pages. -HKMARKS 01:02, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Manga, vol. 10
Is there any information available as to when the English version of vol. 10 of the NGE manga is supposed to be released? I haven't found any info at VIZ's website, and have had little success with general searches aside from finding what might be the cover art. Willbyr (talk | contribs) 03:48, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Episode Translation
Episode 26 is translated as The Beast that Shouted "I" at the Heart of the World from Sekai no chūshin de "ai" wo sakenda kemono. The word "ai" means love not I. Shouldn't it be changed? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Malevious (talk • contribs) .
- No, see List of Neon Genesis Evangelion media#_note-ellison. The translations given in the table are the official translations in the subtitles by ADV. I'll try to make that clearer on the page. -HKMarks 03:37, 1 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Notenki Memoirs
Should this appear on the list? 132.205.44.134 03:58, 3 May 2007 (UTC)
- No. It's more of a Gainax-related media thing; I've read it, and the subtitle is a bit misleading as it only spends <10 pages on Eva. --Gwern (contribs) 04:13 3 May 2007 (GMT)
-
- It's a good read but it would be better as a footnote on "Gainax"'s article than Evangelion pages. --Vi Veri Veniversum Vivus Vici (talk) 01:22, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Hoaxes etc.
Anyone support the removal of that section? I am mildly in favor of keeping it, since this is the media page and not List of Neon Genesis Evangelion official merchandise. --Gwern (contribs) 02:53 23 June 2007 (GMT)
[edit] Manga Volume 11
Does anyone have the chapter titles for the 11th manga volume? If so, they should be added. Xenofan 29A 19:46, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
- Probably not until November. Willbyr (talk | contribs) 16:16, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
- Where there supposed to be 12 Manga volumes or 13?--Vi Veri Veniversum Vivus Vici (talk) 17:54, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
- I don't know; the release schedule has been so erratic that most stores in my area don't carry it anymore, and Amazon doesn't have a listing for any English volumes beyond #11. Depending on how far into the events of EoE vol. 11 goes, I'd say it could be either 12 or 13, but I'm leaning toward 12. Willbyr (talk | contribs) 19:40, 1 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Merge?
I see that there's already an entry in this article about the Red Cross Book, but IMO that article doesn't have enough merit to stand on its own, given the small amount of material. I say bring the information that's there into this article to supplement what's already here. Agree/disagree? Willbyr (talk | contribs) 17:43, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
- The RCB is referenced quite a bit on its own, so I'd leave it alone. If there's not a lot of information right now, it's because no one has added it or it's been removed for being sourced from fan studies. --Gwern (contribs) 21:39 17 July 2007 (GMT)
[edit] Nintendo DS
A new Neon Genesis Evangelion video game came out in Japan. It was released for the Nintedo DS. Neon Genesis Evangelion Magokoro wo Kimi ni. I don't know much information about it but there's your heads up. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Coolkid602006 (talk • contribs) 21:17, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Evangelion: ReTake
I noticed that ReTake has been added to the List of NGE topics article. Is this particular doujin worth mentioning in this article? Willbyr (talk | contribs) 17:24, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
- Absolutely not. It is a hentai doujin...a hentai doujin. Its actually got some plot to it so the fanboys keep pushing it as "really well written!" but its just a fan porn comic; Gainax et all didn't produce it or anything, it should be removed. --Vi Veri Veniversum Vivus Vici (talk) 01:21, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
- I noticed that Gwern reverted the removal of ReTake from the media page. I guess the main question is, how notable is it? Even if it's got some adult material, if it's received some press somewhere, it probably deserves a mention. Willbyr (talk | contribs) 19:57, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
- I haven't seen it really mentioned anywhere. "Notable" is a slippery thing and I hate to throw it around...but reall, this is just a doujinshi that (has some sex scenes in it) plus happens to be "making the rounds" on the internet. Its not anything. Sort of like how when fanfic writers write a "happy ending" to Romeo and Juliet with both surviving and then declare that "this fanfic is amazingly well written!". I've seen it and it is fanfic of the lowest order. Putting such matters aside, it's not really notable. --Vi Veri Veniversum Vivus Vici (talk) 17:53, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
- I read it a coupla weeks ago, but I wasn't able to find any links to any places where it received an official review or press release. I guess it would take someone who can translate kanji to go to the publisher's website and see if there's any such information. Willbyr (talk | contribs) 19:43, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
- Did you personally feel it had any merit? It seemed like yet another fanfic with a happy ending inserted. --Vi Veri Veniversum Vivus Vici (talk) 20:00, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
- I liked it a lot; it spun the story in a way that I wasn't expecting, and while there is a happy ending, it's not necessarily the only ending. I think the true ending is the last scene where the girl finds Shinji and Asuka by the sea of LCL is the "true" ending and the ending in Germany is for the reality established by the main storyline, since it establishes that multiple realities exist...or something. [edit] Portugal or Italy
Where did it air first on broadcast television? --AnY FOUR! (talk) 07:56, 8 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Episode listing
Should the listing of the episodes follow the same format as in the List of Neon Genesis Evangelion episodes article, minus the plot information? I like the format of the other list a lot better, plus it gives more information. Willbyr (talk | contribs) 16:14, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
- We might simply merge them. --Vi Veri Veniversum Vivus Vici (talk) 17:54, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Videos?
Hey the videos section has no description. Does it mean video, as in VHS, releases or what? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.60.249.119 (talk) 19:33, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
