[edit] Musical modes

Having taken musical theory throughout high school and college, I did kind of a double-take on the name "Mixolydia" when I ran into it. As I added to the page, the seven "Magypsies" have the same names as the seven musical modes (except without the terminal Ns). They were translated differently when I added the info to the page; I personally recommend against changing them back unless there's an official translation somewhere (the game's not out in English anywhere officially) because, for example, "Phrygia" fits the pattern but "Fligia" does not (the names are identical in Japanese; Ls and Rs are indistinguishable). And how is one supposed to pronounce "Roqulia" anyway? --HeroicJay 23:21, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use

While I won't claim to be an expert on this subject, I'm pretty sure that having sprites for every single character would be a clear violation of fair use. Perhaps consider removing several of them. 75.153.231.20 20:29, 19 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Lucas

With Lucas being a playable character in Brawl I believe he should have his Brawl picture because he will become more recognized now. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Thedarkpp (talkcontribs) 17:52, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

I don't know if he needs his own page but I can't believe there is so little information about him. He is the main character and really only the first two lines are about his appearance in the game. I can only guess he had his own page so they made this really short, with a link, and then deleted his page and never moved the information over. I came here trying to find out more about him and I still know almost nothing. Ssbb marth 14:17, 9 November 2007 (UTC)

  • Agreed. Maybe in the future, he'll need his own article, what with being in Brawl and having a storyline in the Subspace Emissary. Out of Ninten and Ness, he has much more of a backstory. Lucas has feelings, and unlike Ness, his family actually contributes to the plot of the game. Ninten was basically cardboard and Ness was an obvious improvement, but Lucas is the most important character in Mother 3 (maybe second to Claus or Porky), and some other characters have more lines than him. 67.191.215.227 (talk) —Preceding comment was added at 19:52, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
  • Isnt it a little odd that at least 2 thirds of Lucas' article is devoted to his role in Brawl? user:Kaneda435 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.90.248.240 (talk) 21:24, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

I really dont believe that the lucas in brawl part as well as the spoilers should be in this section/article btw.24.253.159.223 (talk) 03:26, 3 February 2008 (UTC)

Actually, I just removed the references to smash except for the one saying he is in the game because this is an article on Lucas in the game mother 3. The information regarding him in smash can be included on the smash page, rather than take up the majority of his description in mother 3. It is unnecessary, cluttering, and not related.
Which would be fine and dandy except that consensus is that Smash Bros. characters have info on their Smash appearances on their own articles, not at Super Smash Bros. (series) (which only lists the games they're in and the series they hail from). -Jéské (v^_^v Detarder) 09:07, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
An article for all the characters of smash and their descriptions would be much more suitable. Most of the other characters articles are dedicated to them and have informations on them from several games because these characters have been in several franchises for years and have been in many games. But Lucas is a character that is in only ONE game, and this article is called "List of Mother 3 character's" It is used as the link for people looking for more info on the individual characters in Mother 3. The best bet here would be to either make an article "List of characters from smash" and discuss their abilities and roles in smash or to make an individual page for Lucas which can cover both games. The problem which the latter option, however, was already mentioned however; Lucas has not been in enough games to deserve his own article.
Smash is a compilation; what defines Lucas as a character is Mother 3 and not his appearance in a compilation series. It is silly to have one paragraph on his one little space on this article of MOTHER 3 characters, and then spend most of it talking about his moves in the smash series. It seems very out of place in an article tha goes on to talk about all of the other characters from Mother 3 with no further relation or reference to smash. All this is doing is unnecessarily spreading all this stuff on smash only information that a person could easily have in one article, and making people go to several articles just to find the relevant information. It is terribly inefficient and messy looking. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.192.236.174 (talk) 17:08, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

You listed ness's PK moves as being Kumatora's moves but there is no Kumatora in Earthbound. PK Fire is from Paula, PK Thunder is his own move and Poo's. PK magnet is His own move and also is PK flash. rewrite this portion of lucas's article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.192.236.174 (talk) 05:32, 15 March 2008 (UTC)

"I" didn't list any of those things. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.192.236.174 (talk) 14:46, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
Oh wow. Go back and play Earthbound, please. All of Ness's special moves in Smash Bros weren't originally his with the exception of PK Flash. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.155.92.82 (talk) 06:12, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Duster?

This isn't confirmed by Dogo in I'm going to deleat it in 24 hrs unless proved other wise BaconBoy914 (talk) 14:55, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Note about Magypsies

Just a note to whomever feels that the Magypsies are women. It is incorrect to say they are women. In the game, the Magypsies are frequently refered to as "s/he" whenever referenced by Duster, Alec, Kumatora and other various characters, their gender is never specified in any dialogue. Thanks.

[edit] There is no Mary. (Quite Contrary)

I keep finding sentences in multiple MOTHER 3 topics claiming a woman named Mary gets killed by the Ultimate Chimera. This is not true by any standard. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Nuparu (talkcontribs) 13:33, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] lucas's mother

according to his profile his mother was killed —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.169.21.128 (talk) 13:47, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Pokey vs. Porky

The page keeps altering throughout between Porky and Pokey. It needs to be made more consistent with just one name, not constantly changing between the two.The Great Morgil (talk) 05:41, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
