[edit] Start of page

I realize it's a simple, rough page; working to improve. Could use some clarity for mid-season starting QB changes, temporary replacements and "alternating" QB's like the 1982 season.

After it is improved, perhaps a template can be created for the use of all other NFL teams. Arx Fortis 04:01, 1 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] The recent REDIRECT

Jaranda, may we please discuss the redirection of this article before you unilaterally perform the redirect? It took a LOT of time to gather this information and it is not reflected in the Miami Dolphins article. This is part of a larger effort to create an article listing the starting NFL quarterbacks for each team. ++Arx Fortis 20:58, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

See Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information which this is. It's not worth an indiviual article as it's too minor of a topic that only some sports fans will find interesting. Sutable for a sports wiki but not here. Merge the info if you want. Thanks Jaranda wat's sup 21:10, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

I would disagree that this information would be considered non-notable. It's not as if we have a page for the starting player in every position in the history of the team. Pro Quarterbacks in and of themselves are notable. There are succession boxes for starting QBs regardless of team (see at the bottom of Dan Marino (edit: whose title no longer works since you redirected again) and Brad Johnson. This page gives the title of the QB succession box a place to link to give a complete picture of that succession. I see nothing wrong and everything right with collecting NFL Pro starting QB information in lists. ++Arx Fortis 21:39, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

Further, as an admin, I would think you would have a little more tolerance for some discussion before RE-redirecting the article. ++Arx Fortis 21:42, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
Jaranda, by redirecting List of Miami Dolphins starting quarterbacks to Miami Dolphins without including the former list's information, you have effectively done the same action as deleting the article/list itself. Please do not use redirects as a substitute for deletion. If you wish to have the original Miami QB list article deleted, then restore it and list it at WP:AFD. Your reasoning that "Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information" is not ample reasoning for the specific redirect action (unless you wish to do the same to the hundreds of other list articles and further risk the omission of useful information from Wikipedia).
