I am just wondering why after I spent hours yesterday adding Boom Boom, Spiny, Torpedo Ted, Blargg, Chargin Chuck and more they've all been deleted. It's meant to be a list of Mario series enemies isn't it, all of my additions had either appeared in alot of games or were fan favourites so why have they been deleted

I started an archive for this talk page because it was getting exceedingly long. Hopefully it can be kept at a more manageable size. Useight 06:03, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Piranha Plant.jpg

Image:Piranha Plant.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit] Mario Enemy Encyclopedia

Here is a site with a listing of a few hundred enemies of Mario and Luigi:

[edit] Major Repairs Required

I do not know a lot about the Mario franchise, but I am quite sure there are no games with phone numbers or "yo mama" in the title. There is an awful lot of work needed here, but I'm not the guy to do it. --Puckeater8 02:26, 26 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Bob-omb

I have to disagree. I have played Super Mario Bros. 2 (Doki Doki Panic) at least 200 times through in my life and I have never once seen a walking "Bob-omb" in it. Yes you could pick up "Bomb plants" and throw them at enemies, but there were no actualy "Bob-ombs." Bob-ombs made their first appearence on the Doomships in Super Mario Bros. 3 —Preceding unsigned comment added by RocmanRaz (talkcontribs) 02:10, 14 October 2007 (UTC)

That's not true. Those blue spheres with red arms and legs in Super Mario Bros. 2 are Bob-ombs. At the end of the game, it displays the names of all the monsters next to a picture of them, and those things are labled "Bob omb". They don't appear until the later levels, though, so it depends on how far you've managed to get in order to see them. --Someone Else's Problem (talk) 02:13, 5 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Non-free images

Way to many fair use images in here, it's been tagged as that for a while, and it's starting to look like the lists of episodes we sanitized a few months ago. Pick one or two to stay and pull the rest, I'm not a big mario fan, so I have no idea which ones would be the most valuable. I'll pull them all in a day or two if there isn't a selection made. -Mask? 15:08, 16 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Blarg?

Any info on the monster, "Blarg" is gone. I do think it should be included, though. But still, why would I be directed here by "blarg" if there's no information on that specific baddie? 204.83.211.251 15:27, 17 October 2007 (UTC)

I agree. I have the picture, But I dont know anything about it. It'd be nice if someone could make it(ask me if you want the pic too) or remove the redirect to this page Capgun2713 (talk) 18:12, 23 November 2007 (UTC)

these are my favourite koopa kids I don't know why.

[edit] Goomba

The Goomba deserves it's own article! Claycrow (talk) 19:02, 29 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Might Mole in SMB3

"Monty Moles appear in several Mario games in varying forms, having made their first appearance in Super Mario World."

There are moles in Super Mario Bros 3 that threw stuff at Mario/Luigi. Are these the same thing or different?

- 75.16.72.187 (talk) 03:51, 9 December 2007 (UTC)

They are different enemies. The mole things that throw wrenches at you in Super Mario Bros. 3 are called Rocky Wrenches. Rocky Wrenches are called (プー) in the Japanese version of SMB3; this can be confirmed on the Japanese Wikipedia article for the game. Monty Moles, on the other hand, pop out of the ground and run around. Tony Myers (talk) 04:13, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Something missing

As I read this list of enemies found in Mario games, I noticed one of them is missing. The fishes that appear in Super Mario Bros. worlds 2-2 and 7-2. 210.4.122.94 (talk) 04:30, 30 January 2008 (UTC)

I noticed that too. the Cheep-Cheeps are missing from this list. They do appear in Super Mario Bros. and also in Super Mario Galaxy. Once I find facts, i will put Cheep-Cheeps on this list. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 10minnickm (talkcontribs) 13:07, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
Yes. There are two species in NSMB (New super mario bros.), green and orange. The green follow and close in on you. The orange just swim in a certain direction.Ajfweb (talk) 18:19, 27 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Merge with List of Mario series characters

I don't understand why they are two separate lists. I think is very easy to merge all the infomration from here to the other main article. -- Magioladitis (talk) 10:36, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

These aren't really characters though, they're generic monsters. -- Lord Crayak (talk) 11:33, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

It's a general policy on Wikipedia not to let an article get too long (above about 50K.) Merging the two would probably put it over the limit. (This is not an exceptionless policy by any means, however. There are >200K articles.) Soap Talk/Contributions 19:48, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Torpedo Ted (God Damnit)

OK, if you're going to have a redirect here for the enemy "Torpedo Ted", why not at least have the character in the article? I don't have time for this, and I want to read about Torpedo Ted. -- Tacoelf7 (talk) 12:19, 30 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Formatting

The formatting of names (English name - Japanese characters - Japanese romanji) is not only unhelpful, it doesn't mention the Actual Japanese name - I.e. where's Jugem? Of course, though, we need sources for that. Once we get one, we need to change the formatting. WhisperToMe (talk) 07:24, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] List of Enemies: Pictures

Umm... any reason not all of the enemies have pictures? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Doomender (talkcontribs) 04:53, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

I would like to request people to add more old pictures, for example, from the NES/SNES series games. The pictures shown here are mostly the more modern ones and don't paint a picture of the whole series. Cazort (talk) 16:00, 10 May 2008 (UTC)

Seconded. Doomender (talk) 20:12, 11 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Banzai Bill

I saw it noted in the Bullet Bill section of this article that Banzai Bill was not featured in Super Mario Galaxy; the massive bullet was, in fact. He has two (three, maybe) launchers in Bowser's Galaxy Reactor. It's the good ol', classic Banzai Bill, face and all. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.244.79.208 (talk) 16:28, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Super Smash Bros. Brawl references

I was wondering if it would be worth mentioning that Lakitu and Hammer Bros appear as Assist Trophies in Super Smash Bros Brawl. I noticed that the Thwomp section had a reference to Legend of Zelda, so I dont see why Brawl cant be mentioned as well... SpinachPuffs (talk) 01:34, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
