[edit] List maintainable?
Umm, is this list maintainable? Shouldn't we exclude at least articles of Japanese people? -- Taku 07:50 Mar 23, 2003 (UTC)
- This list is the Japanese version of List of China related topics. The "Related changes" of this page is useful to monitor Japan-related changes. I don't think we should exclude articles on people. -- Nanshu 08:11 Mar 23, 2003 (UTC)
[edit] Kanji English
What's that "Kanji English" article for? Sounds like utter nonsense to me. —This unsigned comment was added by UM (talk • contribs) .
[edit] Article unintelligible
The whole article is absolutely uninteligable! —This unsigned comment was added by 212.112.96.46 (talk • contribs) .
[edit] Al Qaeda article
Al Qaeda is relevant because its Project Bojinka stated that 11-12 U.S. airliners would be bombed. Several of them would stop over in Japan.
Also, the preliminary testing on a flight from Manila to Tokyo killed a Japanese businessman. WhisperToMe 23:59, 14 Nov 2003 (UTC)
- It is true but if we adapted that sort of resoning, many articles loosely-related to Japan need to be added to here. For example, the United States has a very close connection with Japan in terms of economy but it cannot be a reason to list it. I think you can think in the way that articles listed here are originally from Japan or at least articles that mention Japan in more than trivial points.

- Is Philippine Airlines Flight 434 (the flight was headed to Tokyo, and the person that died on the flight was a Japanese businessman - The bombing was linked to Project Bojinka) significant enough to be listed in this article? WhisperToMe 10:26, 15 Nov 2003 (UTC)
[edit] Removed the following from the article page:
- Wikipedia:Naming conventions (Japanese)
- Wikipedia:Manual of Style for Japan-related articles
- Wikipedia:WikiProject Japanese prefectures
- Wikipedia:WikiProject Japanese districts and municipalites
- Wikipedia:Tips for Japanese
- Wikipedia:Wikipedians/Japan
- Wikipedia:WikiProject Chinese characters —This unsigned comment was added by Rholton (talk • contribs) .
I don't see why Rholton removed the above. It may be unfavorable to list articles with Wikipedia namespace on the ordinally articles, but I think the list of Japan-related topics should have pointers to Japan-related Wikipedia pages. --Nanshu 03:03, 2 Mar 2004 (UTC)
- I agree about this. It certainly makes it easier or your casual reader -- who'd we'd obviously like to become a contributor -- to get involved and know what's involved with Japanese articles. Is such a list maintained elsewhere? -- Tlotoxl 04:55, 2 Mar 2004 (UTC)
BTW, I need a more sophisticated way to know what is happening to Wikipedia.
- I don't like to monitor Recent changes, floods of articles. I cannot get all changes since my last visit if I want.
- But "My watchlist" has a limit.
- New pages only shows new pages as the title says.
- "Related changes " of List of Japan-related topics only shows the latest edits. I often miss edits overwritten by others and edits at Talk.
"Recent changes of selected articles" seems nice. --Nanshu 03:19, 5 Mar 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Further division of pages
The two pages as they currently stand are too large and very hard to use for anything. I propose making a separate page for each letter. Thoughts? --日本穣 08:14, 26 March 2006 (UTC)
- I've begun the split and finished the 123-K page. --日本穣 Nihonjoe 23:56, 1 April 2006 (UTC)
- All done. (^_^) --日本穣 Nihonjoe 05:36, 3 April 2006 (UTC)
