Talk:List of Iranian Americans
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Why did you delete all that information??
That list was the only of its kind on the web.
Those people are directors and chairs and deans.
I dont think it's right to alphabetize at the cost of deleting that stuff.--Zereshk 00:33, 8 Apr 2005 (UTC)

- No, I just remove them temporarily to add them in ABC order. I will add them again today.--Sina 07:54 8 Apr 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Proposal for list inclusion
I have made the following proposal regarding the criteria for inclusion for these lists. If this is something that you have comments or ideas about, please provide feedback. Thanks. Wikibofh 9 July 2005 19:14 (UTC)
[edit] Are These People Iranians Americans?
90% or more of these people were born outside of Iran. Many of them have only one Iranian parent.
Are we looking at people's grandparents like the Nazis in the 1930's? Perhaps, I am wrong, but this is just a quick observation.

- Anyone with an Iranian parent has automatic Iranian citizenship, so it's not out of the question. BTW first you talk about only one parent, then you say only grandparents, and comparing it to Nazis. Someone is going to Godwin this talk page.

I don't even think this issue should be raised since there are many people listed under "Italian-American", "Irish-American", ect. who are 2nd, 3rd generation Americans. The list of the Iranians here is lacking big time, there are many famous Iranian Americans. I'll try to make more appropriate additions

[edit] Please explain your motivation
I would like to ask those who generated this list. 1. why there should be a list of iranian american? 2. what is so special about being iranian american? 3. are you trying to attract attension of americans? 4. if you, the creator of this list and supporters of it, do not see the point, yourself tell me your first reaction to a page called list of iranians. isn't it rediculous? if not, where are you going to store a list of 70million people?
I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING YOUR ANSWERS. Darw on 21 Feb 2006
- If you go back to the list of Iranian Americans (the article part of this discussion page, you will see that it is not just Iranian Americans that get a page, but Irish Americans, Indian Americans, etc. I went to those discussion pages, but I did not find your comment on other pages. Why is this page any different? Why are you singling this page out when there are many lists of Americans by diversity that you've yet to comment on?
Looking forward to reading your explanation. Siyavash 18:46, 21 February 2006 (UTC)
IS THERE A LIST FOR RACIST-AMERICANS WHERE RACIALLY MOTIVATED PEOPLE COULD HAVE THEIR NAMES LISTED REGARDLESS OF THEIR ETHNIC OR NATIONAL ORIGIN?

- Siavash, I agree with you. You know, these Americans are so quick to jump at us (or even tazer us like we saw in UCLA) whenever we bring up our culture and our pride in our ancient civilization and history. I think they are jealous that they only have 200 years of history on a land that wasn't theres to begin with, Oops im being rude now ;) Haramzadi 06:27, 19 November 2006 (UTC)
