Pretty good, but more is needed :) You should consider using those links I gave to you a while back. A Modern Repeats section could include the estimates for how much damage an Iniki-type storm would do to Oahu ($14 to $24 billion- potentially 3rd costliest U.S. hurricane of all time) as opposed to an Iwa-type storm $4.5 to $7.5 billion, still more than Iniki). Also, were there any storms since Iniki that had a potential for a significant Hawaiian impact? Iniki and Iwa should be given more weight in the article, as they are Hawaii's most important hurricanes. Damage pictures would be nice. Also, some places are a little short on detail. Year USD amounts are needed ($2 million 1986 USD for Estelle, for example). Always indicate which island was effected. Finally, a summary would be nice at the bottom, showing the number of storms that effected each island as well as Hawaii impacts by month. --Hurricanehink (talk) 18:08, 20 July 2006 (UTC)

OK, Chacor took that out, but I think that such information is encyclopedic and could go in the lead. It is important that an Iniki type storm hitting today would cause X billion dollars. I took it out because a lot of the text was speculative, like "other examples COULD", or "Storm X COULD HAVE"... that is simply not right for an encyclopedia, to speculate about previous events that have not developed. Chacor 14:20, 25 July 2006 (UTC)

Metrification: Should be rounded to nearest five for all windspeeds and distances, don't round off gusts or anything else (like rainfall). Chacor 16:20, 12 August 2006 (UTC)

Sustained winds are usually averages ("1-minute average", "10-minute average"), but gusts are definite. The cites should preferably capitalise "Hurricane Center". And apology is accepted, I'll just ignore it as a minor incident. No problem. Chacor 17:00, 12 August 2006 (UTC)

There are minor typoes, and there's things like "60 miles (96 km)". Some knot-to-mph and km/h conversions are missing. Stuff like "36mph (58 km/h)" need an additional space between the number and the unit, etc. Chacor 01:36, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

nbsps are no-break spaces, per WP:MOSNUM, they are preferable as it will prevent a line break between the number and the unit. (That's really picky though).--Nilfanion (talk) 09:54, 14 August 2006 (UTC)

I upped it to B class, but there's still some things to be done if this is to be a Featured List Candidate (which it could be). A climatology section could be good. That section could include why hurricanes in Hawaii are so rare. Despite what was said above, I think that info from the modern repeats section could be there. I think estimates for how much damage for what Iniki could do today is very encyclopediac and interesting, though it needs to be worded carefully. It should get another run through to make sure every storm is listed. I spot two storms already that aren't here (TD 1-C from 1994 and Ignacio from 1985). Unfortunately, that means that the NHC archives, CPHC archives, and the newspaper archive might need to be checked again. Hurricanehink (talk) 01:43, 5 November 2006 (UTC)

Hello. May I point out that speculation of events is inappropriate in Wikipedia because it does not follow WP:CRYSTAL. It says clearly that "extrapolation, speculation, and "future history" are original research and therefore inappropriate." I do not support including modern repeats being included unless a reliable source can be verified. RaNdOm26 05:01, 19 December 2006 (UTC)

The graph in "Listed_by_month" confuses me. Is it supposed to match the table to the right? They both have the same label; "number of [recorded] storms affecting Hawaii", however the numbers are not the same. What is this supposed to be? -- RattleMan 09:34, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
