Talk:List of Guilty Gear characters
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Naturally, I made this in order to trim the main Guilty Gear article to a more Wikipeda friendly size. This should allow us to expand the bios as we see fit, at least until we're comfortable to give the characters their own articles.
One thing I'd like to see is the voice actors for all the characters listed as well. It might be a good idea to perhaps create a table template to keep things clean as well. At the least, it can give us an excuse to throw in images. Enjoy. --Paul Soth 17:56, 6 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Would it be preferable if we arrange the character listing in order of appearance in the series - that is, characters from Guilty Gear: The Missing Link go first, then GGX, then GGXX, then #Reload, and finally Isuka? (At least in the playable character section.) I find looking through the list as it currently is to be a bit... out of sync. -RTL, 14 May 2005 (GMT)
- The list is alphabetical, as this is meant to be an index. --Paul Soth 03:54, 14 May 2005 (UTC)
- I see, that's fair enough. -RTL, 14 May 2005 (GMT)
I have added an addition to Robo-Ky, explaining the essential differences between XX Robo-Ky and #Robo-Ky (hehe which is everything). -RTL, 14 May 2005 (GMT)
I just added a page for Bridget, just so anyone who's interested knows. Yar Kramer 08:19, 14 May 2005 (UTC)
- Added another for I-No, woot. Yar Kramer 18:34, 14 May 2005 (UTC)
- Minor corrections aside, those are good summaries of the characters so far! -RTL, 16 May 2005 (GMT)
I've taken out Leap from the Non-Playable Characters section. This is because I don't think we need to list any of the Jellyfish pirates that have not been mentioned in the story mode of the games (unless she was mentioned in the original game's story mode, in which case I'll put her back). -RTL, 15 June 2005
- As far as I know, she isn't. No problem there. -Yar Kramer 17:10, 15 Jun 2005 (UTC)
I put in the seiyuus for all of the characters (and non-playable characters, too) that have their own articles. For future reference (when the other character articles are written), I used:
- the Wikipedia search bar :)
- Anime News Network Encyclopedia of People
- IMDb's voice list for Guilty Gear
- IMDb's voice list for Guilty Gear X
- IMDb's voice list for Guilty Gear XX
- IMDb's voice list for Guilty Gear Isuka

- ... Dude, IMDB lists video games? Sweet! :O --Yar Kramer 04:45, 19 July 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Bravo!
I think that this is a very good idea, and I salute you. However, I hope that this is only to be a short intermediate step before giving individual gameplay/biographical articles to the characters. It's not as hard as it seems, especially with such deep and intricate characters as these. I was able to get two paragraphs out of my initial article on Remy, who is comparitively quite flat.
- I would agree, although you have to be careful on what you say about the characters because there is a surprisingly large amount of "fanon" regarding character backgrounds (mostly spread through fanfiction and theories on how to explain certain things). -RTL
- Don't worry. I'm fairly certain of what's fanon and what's not, and obviously will be quite careful with all of this. I encourage anyone who would like to assist me in making individual pages to do so, and I will begin on this project when I have time, using only storyline that has been confirmed (Please look over my pages, so that I don't make any mistakes.)

- I was actually planning on making an entry on Dizzy, myself. Yar Kramer 21:00, 30 Apr 2005 (UTC)
- Awesome. Please feel free to do so. I personally will be starting with Axl Low and Zappa, and possibly Baiken and Testament. I'll probably start on these as soon as I have a goot amount of free time Digital Watches 06:50, 2 May 2005 (UTC)
- Good. And I have now corrected the link in my previous message, so that it now actually leads to the entry I created. Yar Kramer 05:15, 4 May 2005 (UTC)

[edit] GUH!
I need help with the ongoing story of Axl Low in GGX. I've never actually owned that one, and so I don't know what he did in it. Any help would be appreciated. Please respond quickly so that I can finish the article. Digital Watches 06:47, 6 May 2005 (UTC)
- Hmm. I'm pretty sure there's a translation of Guilty Gear X-Plus's story mode on GameFAQs. That should have what you're looking for. Yar Kramer 20:01, 6 May 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Zappa.
I added Zappa and, of course, S-Ko, made an S-Ko section on his page, a Megumi section on Axl's, and made the links Megumi (Guilty Gear) and S-Ko redirect to the pages they're associated with. I think we should do the same for Sharon, the pirate crew, and any other extremely minor character that belongs on someone else's page.
- Good idea. I also recomment someone, uh, redirect Gabriel (Guilty Gear) from Potemkin to Potemkin (Guilty Gear). Yar Kramer 16:00, 17 May 2005 (UTC)
[edit] This article
Since the eventual goal is to have each character with their own page, would it make sense to change each character's summary to 'see [name]' on this page when they get an article of their own? Yar Kramer
- I could go both ways on this, Yar. To be honest, I don't mind a little summary bit here for people who simply want a quick description. But if you think it'd be better to get rid of them, that works for me too. Digital Watches 01:52, 25 May 2005 (UTC)
- Ah, true. I guess your right (and maybe misinterpreted Paul Soth's intentions with this) about that. I guess it's a good idea to have a brief summary ... Yar Kramer 04:24, 25 May 2005 (UTC)
[edit] A note on creating articles for characters.
Some other articles may already have pre-existing links to articles on individual characters that do not exist yet. However, these articles most likely link to "Character Name (video game character)" (which has been a Wikipedia standard for video game characters) rather then the "Character Name (Guilty Gear)" that everyone's been doing so far. Just remember those redirects when you're making a new article. --Paul Soth 06:02, 19 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- As far as that goes, I'm all for taking, like, 90% of the content here and making a Guilty Gear WikiCities account and stuff, including individual character pages, which in this capacity might be seen as fancruft. Just a thought, put forth at 2:30 AM local time. ;) --Yar Kramer 06:27, 19 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- I think the total Guilty Gear content on Wikipedia is small enough for us to stay here for now. --Paul Soth 06:32, 19 Jun 2005 (UTC)
[edit] "Frederick Sol"
Uh, where/how is it revealed that Frederick's last name is Sol? --Yar Kramer 03:13, 26 July 2005 (UTC)
- Where/how did you come upon such information? I've never heard such a thing. RTL 07:06, 7 August 2005 (UTC)
- Dunno, someone just went through a bunch of GG articles saying that Frederick's last name was Sol. It's largely been removed, though. Check the history. --Yar Kramer 02:51, 8 August 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Matchups and Gameplay
Hey. Sorry I cut out for so long. Been busy. Anyway, the gameplay portions should be made for characters that don't have them yet, such as Eddie. Also: On the Axl Low page, I've started a new subsection to the gameplay which lists good and bad matchups for a character. I think we should make this section for all the characters, as it's an important part of the strategy. Digital Watches 07:22, 6 September 2005 (UTC)
- So what happened? I don't see any match-up ratios on the character pages... >__> RTL 18:52, 15 August 2006 (UTC)
- Eh. It turned out to be futile. Matchups change a lot based on how high the level of play is, and often change when new strategies are discovered. -- Digital Watches 19:30, 15 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] That Man
I've added a page for That Man. It's got a section in it about Raven, too. --Yar Kramer 03:24, 11 September 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Fanny (Guilty Gear), Leopaldon redirect here; Kliff Undersn merged here
See Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Fanny (Guilty Gear). Johnleemk | Talk 07:01, 7 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Fanny?
Does anybody know her story in guilty gear petit 1 and 2? i played the game in a wonder swan emulator but its in japanese so i dont understand her story...help!? whats the connection with her and faust?
[edit] P.W.A.B.
Methinks we should add something on the P.W.A.B. here ... it's definitely the poorly-explained driving force behind most of the events in GGXX. At least, the events that weren't caused by I-No. --Yar Kramer 02:29, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
- Until we have another representative, PWAB information should either not be treated as a character (Perhaps a separate article could be made for the organization as a collective) or added to Robo-Ky's page, as he is the only agent of the organization thus far mentioned. I prefer the former solution. Digital Watches 02:38, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] I-No
There's no entry for I-No. Can someone please remedy that?
- Done and done. ShaleZero 18:36, 7 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Gig
This article needs a picture of Gig from Guilty Gear Dust Strikers.
[edit] Faust/Dr. Baldman and Japanese people
There are various sections of this entire article in which the Japanese people are called an "endangered species", and "cultural treasures". Seeing as they are people, and not animals or objects, these lines should be revised.
Also, why don't we just merge the Faust and Dr. Baldman sections? If you read them, they have almost the same exact description. 72.201.33.55 07:18, 5 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Robo-Ky
I'm not sure you should mention that the Robo-Ky in Reload is the "real deal". I think that the Robo-Ky(s) in GGXX were simply all the massed-produced versions, and that the one we play as is a different version (like 1.5 or something like that). Neo Guyver 22:29, 19 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:ThatMan-GGXXR.gif
Image:ThatMan-GGXXR.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
