Talk:List of God of War Monsters

Aside from the fact that I don't appreciate an anonymous user tagging an article that was created less than half an hour ago and is still a work in progress...

1) The article will significantly help clean up and reduce space in the God of War and God of War II articles.

2) Other video game monster lists--see especially the entry for the Silent Hill series--have gone relatively unmolested.

3) The GOW series presents a unique situation wherein the monsters all have bases in classical literature or mythology. For this reason I believe that the bestiary is notable enough, especially for the purposes of comparison/contrast. An individual with no clue about Greek/European myth might look this up and become significantly educated on the basis for the monsters in his/her game. Whoever said video games weren't educational?

I agree completely. This article is interesting and gives a comparison between the game characters and the mythology versions. Plus, if this article was merged with the GOW or GOW2 articles, it would make them extremely large. All I really would like to see is the God of War 2 enemies, but I'm sure this article is still being worked on. All I'm saying is that this article actually has some meaning, and is not just a list of the enemies. Dibbity Dan 19:59, 21 April 2007 (UTC)

Please see WP:INTERESTING, WP:OTHERCRAPEXISTS(For Mistergrind mainly), and WP:USEFUL. In other words, just because this article has some interesting facts(I'll admit I did spend time reading them :)) and other pages similar go without deletion, doesn't make this article good enough to stay on Wikipedia. The fact is, it fails a few policies: WP:NOT#IINFO, specifically Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information and Wikipedia is not a game guide. These two policies are very important in Wikipedia, and one of my pet peeves. Second, this fails WP:V and somewhat WP:OR. You state all this stuff assuming that it's all fact. Great, now back it up! Without any backup, it appears like you made all this up, and that violates WP:OR.
I'll tell you what. I'll see if I can TransWiki this stuff onto StrategyWiki, redirect this page to God of War, and call off my nomination. Does that sound good? I'd feel bad for being the reason for deleting this article; you did a fine job of writing it, and it looks better than many articles on Wikipedia:) SuperDT 04:42, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
Done! You can view and edit it here: [1]. I will now pull my nomination, and turn this into a redirect. Sorry to waste your time :) SuperDT 04:49, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
