Talk:List of Foxtel channels
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Channels in the basic Foxtel package should be listed as "Getting Started" not "Free" -- the certainly aren't free. --Mvjs (talk) 08:39, 8 December 2007 (UTC)
- Thank-you for your contribution, however, the channels that you incorrectly changed are actually free - they are all free-to-air channels, and access to them through the Foxtel platform is provided to customers at no extra charge. They are not a part of the Get Started package [check Foxtel's lineup for proof], and should not be labelled as such. ChrischTalk 14:26, 8 December 2007 (UTC)
- That is true, the free to air channels are certainly not available in the Get Started package. However, labeling them "free" is not right and creates confusion, especially if you compare Foxtel with News Corp's pay TV platforms in other countries which do offer literally free channels. Foxtel subscribers can not view these channels unless they pay for a package, the minimum being Get Started. Might I suggest labeling them as "All packages" or maybe just blank? ---- Smacca | Talk 23:36, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Suggested or proposed channels
Keep in mind that an unconfirmed list of that sort violates guidelines regarding speculation (referred to as "crystal balling" on WP), and is subject to being removed. --Mhking (talk) 02:22, 21 December 2007 (UTC)
By the way, anyone hear of any new channels that people would 'actually want on foxtel?'
[edit] Subscription Packages
Do we really need a list of what subscription package a channel belongs to?? It seems unneccesaary and a possible violation of WP:NOT. All the packages are availaible to look at on the Foxtel website, we don't need it to be on this list of channels. This list is a reference guide to the channels, not a guide to Foxtel packages.
